Clear Plastic Bottle, Black Lotion Pump with Black Overcap, 50 ml

Cream, lotion or gel is dispensed from this clear PET medicine bottle by pressing the black lotion pump, with no need to unscrew a cap. You do not touch the contents with your fingers, so they are less likely to become contaminated, and through the clear plastic you can see how much product is left in the packaging. The 50 ml volume suits a face cream, a thicker serum or a travel-size body lotion. Both the bottle and the pump are made of plastic, so the set is light and does not break if dropped in the bathroom or in a bag.

What it is suitable for

The lotion pump draws up the contents through a tube that reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle, and each press of the head dispenses approximately the same amount. It is suitable for products that are applied in small, repeated doses:

• Face and eye creams – light to medium-thick O/W emulsions, which the pump draws up without difficulty.
• Body and face lotions – thinner emulsions are dispensed smoothly and without splattering.
• Gels and thicker serums – aloe gels, gel creams or higher-viscosity serums for which a dropper is not enough.
• Hand creams and aftershave balms – a small pack for your desk or handbag.

The pump does not draw up very thick butters, solid balms or creams with a high proportion of waxes.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The physical volume up to the neck is larger. The difference is a reserve for the tube and body of the pump, which take up part of the space in the bottle once screwed in, and for slight expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. For this reason, fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents are pushed out through the neck when the pump is screwed in and soil the thread.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would dilute the first doses and is a risk for emulsions without sufficient preservation. After screwing the pump on, press it several times until the tube fills and the first dose comes out in full.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, and the declaration of conformity is provided with the product. Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct food contact; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

PET is suitable for water-based and emulsion formulations. For products with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, or for anhydrous oil serums, we recommend verifying compatibility in the finished formulation. Do not expose the bottle to hot contents; fill the emulsion only after it has cooled.

The bottle can be reused. Once it is empty, wash it with warm water and a cleaning product, rinse it and disinfect it. You can rinse the pump tube by pressing the pump several times in clean water. For recycling, unscrew the pump from the bottle; the bottle is made of PET and the pump of PP.
