Product description
This is a ready-made bottle and sprayer set with a nominal volume of 100 ml, ready for immediate filling. It is particularly suited for facial toners, hydrolats, hair and body mists, refreshing sprays, alcohol-based disinfectant solutions or herbal tinctures – in other words, for thin aqueous and alcoholic contents that are applied to the skin, hair or a surface in a fine, dispersed dose.
The bottle is made of PET, lightweight and unbreakable, so it can be carried in a handbag, used in the bathroom or taken on trips without worry. The white finish conceals the contents from view and limits light exposure, which is appreciated with hydrolats and toners containing plant extracts that lose their scent and colour more quickly in light. The polypropylene sprayer in the same white colour forms a clean, seamless unit with the bottle, which labels adhere to well.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The certification for direct contact with food applies to the bottle alone; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
Why choose this set
- Fine, even dose – each press releases a small amount of dispersed liquid, so toners and mists are applied evenly and without running.
- Practical volume – a 100 ml bottle lasts several weeks of facial toner use and is small enough for travel.
- Lightweight and durable – PET does not shatter on impact, does not weigh down a bag and withstands everyday bathroom use.
- Coordinated finish – both the bottle and sprayer are white, giving the product a uniform look even without a label.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – if overfilled, the contents will spill from the neck once the sprayer is fitted and may seep under the cap.
What is worth knowing about filling
Before first use, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the bottle and sprayer with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. This reduces the risk of contaminants entering the toner or hydrolat that would shorten its shelf life.
The sprayer tube is longer than this bottle requires. Before fitting, it should be cut at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom – if the tube is too long, it will bend inside the bottle and the sprayer will draw in air.
The sprayer works reliably with aqueous and alcoholic solutions. Oils, thick serums and emulsions with higher viscosity disperse poorly, clog the nozzle and the product drips instead of misting. For such contents, a pump or dropper bottle is more suitable.
The PET bottle is stable in the long term with aqueous and alcoholic contents. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, organic solvents, or strongly acidic or alkaline solutions, we recommend testing the packaging behaviour – clouding, softening or absorption of scent into the wall may occur. The bottle is not suitable for hot filling; toners and hydrolats should be filled once they have cooled.
Aqueous products such as toners, hydrolats and mists always require appropriate preservation. The packaging does not ensure microbial stability; closed dispensing without the contents coming into contact with fingers only supports it.
Both the bottle and sprayer can be reused. Once empty, simply rinse them with warm water, pump clean water or diluted ethanol through the sprayer and allow to dry. In terms of recycling, these are two different plastics: the bottle is PET and the sprayer is polypropylene, so we recommend separating them before disposal.
Caps with the same neck type as listed in the parameters, and other ready-made bottle and cap combinations, are available in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend testing the seal, dispensing performance and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
