Gloss Black Glass Bottle, Black Tamper Evident Safety Cap & Dropper, 100 ml

Glass medicine bottle made of black glossy glass with a volume of 100 ml, supplied as a ready-made set with a short plastic dropper insert and a black tamper-evident cap. Black glass does not let light through, so it suits contents that lose effectiveness or change colour in light: face and hair oils, oil serums, essential oil blends, tinctures and herbal extracts. The dropper insert dispenses the contents drop by drop, so the set is intended for thin liquid fills that flow freely through the neck. The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

How the set works

The bottle has an 18/410 neck finish. The dropper insert is pressed into the neck, where it holds on its own, and the cap is screwed on over it. When you tilt the bottle, the contents come out drop by drop, the dose can be counted, and the rest of the contents does not touch your hands during use. The short dropper insert sits low in the neck and does not get in the way when closing.

The cap has a tamper-evident ring that shows the first opening. When the cap is unscrewed for the first time, the tamper-evident ring separates, so the customer can see that nobody has used the contents yet. After that, the cap closes and opens like an ordinary screw cap.

What it is suitable for

• Oil serums and face oils – dispensing drop by drop suits products of which a few drops are used at a time.
• Essential oil blends and massage oils – dark glass slows down changes in fragrance and colour caused by light.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass does not absorb the smell or colour of the contents.
• Hair oils and beard oils – the volume is enough for daily use, and the dropper insert prevents a larger amount from being poured out at once.

Thick creams, gels and emulsions with a higher viscosity will not flow through the dropper insert, so this set is not suitable for them. Water-based toners can be filled, but the dropper insert dispenses them slowly, drop by drop, not as a stream or a spray.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for with normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck, and you can find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper insert, which reaches into the neck once inserted, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, the dropper insert and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Moisture in the bottle shortens the shelf life of both oil-based and water-based fills, especially unpreserved ones. Pour in the contents once they have cooled, as a hot fill may damage the glass through a sudden change in temperature.

The dropper insert is made of polypropylene. With contents that have a high share of essential oils or with solvents, bear in mind that the plastic may soften over time and seal differently than at the start.

Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics, because the dropper insert and the tamper-evident cap do not have a food-contact certificate.

The bottle and the cap can be used repeatedly, and the dropper insert can be removed from the neck and washed. The tamper-evident ring on the cap does not renew itself after the first opening.
