Glass bottle, black glossy, white and gold fine mist sprayer, 10 ml

A small glass bottle with a sprayer for fragrance compositions, facial mists and toners in a travel or sample size. The black glossy glass shields the contents from light, so it also suits blends with essential oils, alcohol-based eaux de parfum and hydrosols, which are damaged by daylight. The white and gold sprayer is a ready-made combination matched to the bottle, so there is no need to choose a closure or test it for tightness.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle on its own also has a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use.

What it is suitable for

• Eaux de parfum and eaux de toilette – a volume of 10 ml corresponds to a common travel or sample size, and the sprayer dispenses small amounts.
• Facial and body mists – hydrosols, toners and refreshing sprays based on water or water with alcohol disperse well through the sprayer.
• Hair perfumes and fresheners – thin alcohol-based solutions are easy to apply to hair or textiles from a 10 ml bottle.
• Samples and gift sets – dark glossy glass with a gold sprayer needs no further finishing, and the contents are protected from light.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 10 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them leaves room for the tube and body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed in, and for the contents to expand when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Working with the sprayer

One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, which corresponds to the usual dose of a perfume or mist. The sprayer tube is longer than a low bottle needs. Before first use, shorten it so that it ends just above the bottom. A longer tube will bend and draw in air, while a shorter one will not draw up the rest of the contents.

After filling, press the sprayer several times to prime it until the tube and pump fill. Thicker or oil-based contents generally do not spray evenly through a fine mist sprayer and come out in drops. The set is intended for thin water-based and alcohol-based contents.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with ethanol and pump it several times so that it dries on the inside as well. The bottle can be reused. When refilling, repeat the procedure and rinse the nozzle more thoroughly, otherwise residues of the old fragrance will mix with the new one.

The contents are not visible through the black glass, so you cannot check the fill level by sight. When selling or giving the bottle as a gift, bear in mind that the customer can identify the fragrance only from the label on the bottle.

For recycling, the glass belongs in glass waste. The sprayer is made of polypropylene and an aluminium part and is sorted as plastic if you separate it from the bottle.
