A ready-made glass bottle and sprayer set, ready to fill with facial mists, hydrosols and eaux de parfum. The black glass protects the contents from light, which you will appreciate with formulations whose fragrance or active ingredients weaken in light. The sprayer produces a fine mist, so the set suits anything that is applied in a thin layer and should not run.

Glossy black glass with a white and gold closure looks like a finished retail product both on the shelf and on the dressing table. The 30 ml volume suits gift sets, perfume samples and products that are carried in a handbag.

What the set is suitable for

• Facial mists and toners – low-viscosity water-based formulations are applied evenly by the sprayer, without your hands touching the skin.
• Hydrosols – dark glass slows their degradation in light and the sprayer allows you to dispense a small amount.
• Eaux de parfum and eaux de toilette – an alcohol base disperses well and 30 ml corresponds to a common travel size.
• Hair sprays – mists to refresh wavy hair, alcohol solutions of essential oils for the scalp, shine spray.
• Leave-on body sprays – refreshing body mists, deodorant sprays on a water or alcohol base.

Dispensing and using the sprayer

One press releases approximately 0.14 ml of the contents. With a full bottle, this corresponds to roughly two hundred doses, which helps when calculating how long a sample will last or when writing directions for use. The tube reaches all the way to the bottom, so almost all of the contents can be used up.

The sprayer is designed for low-viscosity liquids. Aqueous solutions, hydrosols, and alcohol and water-alcohol mixtures pass through without problems. Thick serums, gels or formulations with a thickener will not pass through the nozzle or will clog it. Pure vegetable oils can be sprayed, but instead of a fine mist they produce more of a stream of droplets. We therefore recommend testing oil or oil-alcohol contents in this set on a small amount first.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is larger and you will find it in the parameters. The difference is a reserve for the dip tube and sprayer tube, which push part of the contents upwards when screwed on, and also for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the neck. An overfilled bottle overflows when the sprayer is screwed on and the contents get into the thread.

Good to know

Preparation before filling. Wash the bottle and sprayer before first use, rinse them with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely so that residual water does not dilute the contents.

Reuse. The glass bottle can be reused after thorough cleaning. With the sprayer it is more complicated. The tube and mechanism cannot be reliably cleaned of fragrance components or residues of essential oils, so when you change the contents it is worth replacing it with a new one.

Glass and heat. Do not pour hot solutions into the bottle. Let them cool to room temperature, as a sudden change in temperature can damage the glass.

Plastic and essential oils. The sprayer has plastic and aluminium parts. With contents containing a higher proportion of essential oils or with undiluted essential oils, we recommend checking after a few weeks whether the seal and tube are changing. Diluted water-alcohol and water-based formulations cause no problems.

Contact with cosmetics and food. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food, the sprayer does not, so the set is intended for cosmetics.

Recycling. Before disposal, separate the glass from the sprayer. The bottle belongs with glass, while the sprayer combines plastic and aluminium.
