Product description

Glossy black glass bottle, white fine mist sprayer, 10 ml

A small glass bottle with a fine mist sprayer for toners, facial mists, perfumes and other thin liquids that are applied by spraying. The glossy black glass blocks light and so protects contents that are sensitive to sunlight: hydrosols, alcohol-based perfume blends, extracts and aqueous solutions of active ingredients. The 10 ml volume is enough for a sample, a travel size or a small batch when you want to try a product first.

The set includes the bottle and a white sprayer with a thread that fits its neck, so there is nothing else to buy. Both the packaging and the closure are suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle on its own also has a certificate for direct food contact, while the sprayer does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial toners and mists – water-based and hydrosol formulations applied by spraying without touching them with your hands.
  • Perfumes and fragrance sprays – alcohol-based perfume compositions in a sample or travel size; dark glass slows down changes in the fragrance caused by light.
  • Hair and body sprays – thin solutions that the sprayer disperses evenly.
  • Customer samples – a small volume in closed packaging from which the contents are dispensed spray by spray.

The sprayer is intended for contents with a viscosity close to that of water. Thick oils, gels and emulsions will not pass through it or will settle in the nozzle. For such products, choose a bottle with a dropper or a pump.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between them leaves room for the sprayer tube, which takes up part of the space once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume. If you fill it to the brim, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer several times with clean water and let it spray out any remaining liquid before filling.

The sprayer tube is longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The sprayer will then draw up even the last millilitres of the contents.

One press dispenses approximately 0.13 ml, which corresponds to a facial mist or a single spray of perfume. On first use, the sprayer needs to be pressed several times until the tube fills.

The sprayer is made of polypropylene. It remains stable with water-based, hydrosol and alcohol-based contents with a usual share of fragrance components. For perfume compositions with a high share of essential oils, or for solvents, we recommend checking the tightness and function of the sprayer with your specific formulation. Ideally, test it on a single bottle for several weeks before filling a whole batch.

Black glass does not show how much of the contents remains in the bottle, or whether anything has precipitated or become cloudy in it. For formulations that may separate over time, shake the bottle before use.

The glass withstands washing in warm water and disinfection with alcohol, but sudden changes in temperature are not good for it. You can reuse the bottle after washing. When changing the contents, rinse the sprayer thoroughly so that no residue of the previous product remains in the tube. The glass belongs in glass recycling, the sprayer in plastics.

If you want to use the bottle with a different closure, choose closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters. You can find ready-made combinations of packaging and closure in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does a black glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, glossy black glass is opaque and blocks light, so it protects contents that are sensitive to sunlight. It is suitable for hydrosols, perfumes and aqueous solutions of active ingredients that change fragrance, colour or effectiveness in light. The packaging does not replace the stability of the formulation itself, and preservation of water-based products has to be addressed in the formulation.
Can the 10 ml glass bottle with a sprayer be used for oil?
No, the sprayer is not suitable for oils and thick liquids. Oil passes through the nozzle unevenly, forms droplets instead of a mist and over time settles in it. For oil serums and anhydrous products, choose a bottle of the same volume with a dropper or a pump. The sprayer is intended for water-based, hydrosol and alcohol-based contents with a viscosity close to that of water.
How much liquid fits into the 10 ml bottle?
It is filled up to the nominal volume, that is 10 ml. The bottle has a larger brimful capacity, but that serves as room for the sprayer tube and the expansion of the contents. If you fill it up to the neck, part of the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on. The exact brimful capacity is stated in the parameters.
Is the set with a sprayer suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact, while the sprayer does not. Both parts, the bottle and the sprayer, are declared suitable for cosmetics, so the set is intended for toners, perfumes and sprays.
How do I prepare a bottle with a sprayer before the first filling?
Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry, and rinse the sprayer with clean water. Shorten the tube with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. After filling and screwing on the sprayer, press it several times until the tube fills and a mist forms. Follow the same procedure for repeated use with new contents.
