Product description
The green 10 ml glass bottle with an aluminium screw cap is packaging for small quantities that are used up quickly or handed out as trial samples. It suits essential oils, diffuser blends, fragrance compositions or samples of face and hair oils for customers. Green glass filters out part of the incident light while the contents remain visible, so you can follow both the amount and the clarity of the fill. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.
The cap is made of aluminium and has a liner made of foamed polyethylene (EPE) on the inside. When tightened by hand, the liner sits against the neck of the bottle and the contents do not escape during carrying or shaking. The silver cap complements the green glass and the medicine bottle shape, so the packaging looks consistent without any further finishing.
What it is good for
- Essential oils and fragrance blends – a small quantity that is used up quickly does not need to sit in a large bottle with a lot of air above the surface.
- Samples – a serum, face oil, oil-based perfume or massage blend in a volume that is enough for several uses.
- Travel blends – a portion decanted from a larger pack to carry in a cosmetic bag or handbag.
- Workshop use – set-aside quantities of raw materials, trial doses of fragrances or dyes during recipe development, marked with your own label.
Nominal volume and brimful volume
The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between the two is a reserve for the cap with liner and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill only up to the nominal volume and leave the space above the surface free. With oils and alcohol-based blends, this reserve also makes sense when storing in a warmer room.
The narrow neck of a medicine bottle is easiest to fill through a small funnel or with a syringe without a needle. Let thicker oils come to room temperature before filling, as they flow faster and do not settle in the neck.
Filling and dispensing
The contents of a bottle with an aluminium cap are poured or dripped out by tilting it over the rim of the neck. If you need more precise dispensing by drops or a spray, you will find closures with the same neck type (given in the parameters) and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
Tighten the cap by hand, without tools. The liner seals even with light tightening, and thin aluminium can deform if too much force is used.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the neck or under the liner could weaken the preservative system of the contents.
Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes well. Do not pour hot mixture into a cold bottle, and do not move a filled bottle from the fridge straight into warm water.
With essential oils, alcohol-based blends and products containing solvents, leave the filled bottle to stand for a few days and check the cap liner. Data on the resistance of the liner to specific ingredients are not available, so its behaviour is verified with the finished contents.
You can use the bottle repeatedly. The glass can be washed normally, but always check the cap. If the liner is swollen, cracked or has absorbed the scent of the previous contents, replace the cap with a new one.
For recycling, unscrew the cap: the glass goes with glass and the aluminium cap goes with metals.
The set does not have a certificate for contact with food. It is intended for cosmetic products, samples and technical use. Do not use it for homemade syrups, cooking oils or spirits.
