The glass bottle with spray pump is a practical and aesthetic packaging solution suitable for high-quality cosmetic formulations as well as gentle technical solutions. Thanks to the stable glass and functional mechanical spray pump, it is ideal for filling liquid products that need to be applied evenly to the skin, hair or a surface. The darker glass also helps protect more sensitive components from undesirable light exposure, which supports longer-term stability of the contents.
Glass bottles of this type are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators), depending on the parameters selected for the product. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – verifying tightness, dosing method and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil phase, etc.).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
From the point of view of chemical resistance, glass is a very stable packaging material, so in most cases it is also suitable for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils. However, we always recommend performing your own stability test – filling a smaller amount of product into the bottle, monitoring changes in colour, fragrance or any sediment, and checking the functionality of the spray pump during longer-term use.
The packaging can be reused provided that strict hygiene rules are observed. Before each refilling, the bottle must be disassembled (separating the glass from the spray mechanism), thoroughly washed, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable disinfectant, for example with isopropyl alcohol or denatured plant-based ethanol. The disinfectant must be allowed to evaporate completely before refilling the packaging again, in order to avoid any undesirable influence on the product composition.
Before the first filling, we recommend disassembling both the bottle and the spray pump into individual parts. Wash the glass container in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Then disinfect the packaging using a suitable alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 % denatured. Handle the spray mechanism gently – rinse the dip tube and the spray head with clean water and finally with clear alcohol, always allowing all parts to dry completely before reassembling.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. The glass bottle should be emptied, optionally rinsed free of product residues and then placed in a container designated for glass. Separate the spray mechanism (plastic and metal parts) from the glass and dispose of it in the appropriate collection stream for the respective material type in accordance with local waste sorting rules. In this way you minimise environmental impact and improve the utilisation of raw materials in the recycling process.
To select the ideal packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or pharma bottles), you will find the advanced filter at the top of the page. With its help, you can specifically filter the range according to parameters such as neck type, desired size, colour or packaging material. This allows you to quickly narrow down the selection to only those packages that suit your formulation, dosing method and visual preferences.
For thicker emulsions or oil-based blends, it is important to check whether the product’s viscosity allows smooth spraying. Formulations that are too thick may reduce application comfort or clog the spray head. We recommend first filling a smaller trial amount, verifying the uniformity of spraying, droplet size and the long-term functionality of the mechanism. If necessary, adjust the formula (for example the proportion of water, alcohol or solvents) so that the consistency is optimal for the given type of spray pump.
