Preservatives are substances that help extend the life of your beauty products. They fight bacteria, yeasts, fungi and moulds in cosmetics by stopping them from multiplying for a certain period of time. They are needed wherever you add water to your products. However, these properties predispose them to be poisonous or toxic in their pure state, their dosage in cosmetic products is minimal.
Naticide, also known as Plantaserv Q, is a natural preservative that protects all emulsions (creams and lotions) and washing gels containing water or hydrolates. It can be used in the formulation of organic formulas.
Its delicious sweet scent will add a light vanilla and almond aroma to your formulations.
It is essentially a fragrance of natural origin that is broad-spectrum against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, molds and yeasts. It can be used alone or in combination with other preservatives. Because it is technically a fragrance, it is possible to indicate that the products are preservative-free. In the final composition of the products it is always mentioned under INCI: Perfume.
It is soluble in oils and alcohol, and is only soluble in water up to 0.6%.
Add to recipes at the cooling stage and stir thoroughly (longer than other preservatives) to make sure it has dissolved well.
the pH of the final product should be between 4 - 9
Recommended dosage: 0.3-1% (or 0.2-0.5% in combination with other preservatives)
