Product description

The clear PET medicine bottle with pump for 100 ml is used to dispense liquid and medium-thick cosmetic products in small doses, without unscrewing and without fingers touching the contents. The set combines a clear plastic medicine bottle with a pump with an 18/415 neck finish, whose black and gold glossy head is covered by a clear overcap. Through the clear wall you can see the colour and the remaining amount of the contents, which you will appreciate both when selling and when using it yourself. The bottle is lightweight and unbreakable, so it is also suitable for travel or the bathroom.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle alone has a certificate for direct food contact; the set with the pump is intended as a whole for cosmetic products.

How the pump works

Each press of the head dispenses approximately 0.3 ml. The pump draws the contents up through a tube reaching the bottom of the bottle, so the contents can be pumped even when the level is low. The clear overcap fitted over the head protects the opening from dust and from accidental pressing when the bottle is carried. It is simply removed before use.

The pump is intended for liquid to medium-thick formulations. For thicker creams or emulsions with a thickener, we recommend checking on a small amount that the pump draws up the contents and dispenses them evenly.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the pump tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise part of the contents is pushed out when the pump is screwed on.

What the set is suitable for

  • Serums and light emulsions – a small dose allows precise application to the face and the contents do not spill.
  • Body lotions and face lotions with a more liquid consistency – dispensing with a single press is more hygienic than scooping from a jar.
  • Liquid soaps, cleansing gels and micellar waters – in the bathroom, the contents do not come into contact with wet hands.
  • Face, hair and massage oils – the pump prevents spilling and the oil is dispensed evenly in small amounts.

Thick creams, balms and butters cannot be drawn up through the tube. A jar or container is more suitable for these products.

Good to know

Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. For formulations with light-sensitive ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol or vegetable oils prone to oxidation, a bottle made of amber or blue glass is more suitable, or storage in a box away from daylight.

Do not expose the packaging to aggressive chemicals. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking beforehand that the bottle material and the pump seal remain unchanged.

Fill the contents only after they have cooled down. A warm emulsion or oil straight from a water bath can deform the plastic wall and create a vacuum in the bottle.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Pump clean water through the pump with several presses and let both parts dry completely. When changing the contents, rinse the pump with warm water so that no residues of the previous product remain in the tube.

The bottle is made of PET and belongs in sorted plastic waste. The pump contains plastic and aluminium parts; separate it from the bottle before disposal.

You will find closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made combinations of this bottle with other closures, in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the clear PET bottle with pump protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET does not block light. The clear bottle is suitable for products that are not light-sensitive, or where you want to show the colour and the amount of the contents. It is better to fill serums with vitamin C or retinol, or oils prone to oxidation, into amber or blue glass, or to store them away from daylight.
How much cosmetic product does the 18/415 pump dispense per press?
The pump dispenses approximately 0.3 ml per press. For a serum or a light face emulsion, one or two doses are usually enough; for a body lotion or liquid soap, the pump is pressed several times. The actual dose also depends on the thickness of the contents and may be smaller with thicker formulations.
Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact. The bottle alone has a certificate for direct food contact, but the pump does not, so the whole set is intended for cosmetic products. If you need packaging for homemade oils or syrups, choose the bottle on its own with a closure that has a food-contact certificate.
Is the pump suitable for thick creams?
No, the pump is intended for liquid to medium-thick products. The tube cannot draw up a thick cream, balm or butter, and the pump jams or dispenses irregularly. A jar is more suitable for such products. For medium-thick emulsions, we recommend checking the suction on a small amount before filling the whole bottle.
How do I prepare the bottle and pump before the first filling?
Wash the bottle, rinse it with clean water and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Pump clean water through the pump with several presses, then let both parts dry completely so that no water gets into the contents. The same procedure applies to repeated use; in that case, rinse the pump with warm water until clean water comes out of it.
Can the clear PET bottle with pump be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the pump can be used again after washing and disinfection. Before a new filling, check that the thread seals and that the pump tube is not clogged with residues of the previous product. If the bottle held a product with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, check that the material has not changed shape or clarity.
