Product description

A clear plastic bottle 100 ml with a disc top cap is a ready-to-use set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed in small amounts directly into the palm. It works wherever it is more convenient to open the packaging with one hand than to unscrew a cap: for shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps or body lotions.

The bottle is made of PET, making it lightweight and shatter-resistant when dropped — practical in the bathroom, in the shower and while travelling. The transparent material lets you see the colour and clarity of the contents as well as how much product remains. The tall, slim shape sits comfortably in the hand and takes up little space on the shelf.

How the set works for dispensing

The disc top opens by pressing the disc on one side of the cap. On the opposite side, the dispensing opening flips out, allowing the product to flow when the bottle is tilted and gently squeezed. Pressing the flipped-out section closes the cap again.

  • One-hand operation – the cap stays on the bottle, is never set aside and cannot be lost, which is especially practical in the shower.
  • Small-amount dispensing – the narrow opening releases product gradually, making it easier to gauge the right dose of shampoo or body lotion.
  • Cleaner neck – the contents do not come into contact with fingers the way they do with a jar, which is an advantage for products with a water phase.
  • Visible contents – the clear bottle and cap let coloured gels, two-phase products or clear oils stand out.

What products it is suitable for

The set dispenses best products that flow on their own: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners, thinner body lotions, body and massage oils, or facial cleansing gels. The bottle size suits travel packs, samples of larger products and small home production batches.

Very thin liquids such as tonics or micellar waters flow too quickly from a disc top and are harder to dose. For these, a spray pump is more convenient. Thick creams, body butters and balms will not pass through the narrow opening and are better suited to a jar.

It is advisable to test thicker shampoos and conditioners in a single bottle first. If the product flows to the opening slowly, slightly adjusting the viscosity of the formulation will help.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as headspace for the cap and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle may leak through the dispensing opening when closed or after warming.

What to know before filling

Before first use, the bottle and cap are washed with warm water, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. The disc top should be opened during cleaning so the disinfectant reaches the dispensing channel as well.

PET cannot withstand high temperatures. Do not boil the bottle or sterilise it in an oven, and fill the product only after it has cooled down — hot contents may deform the bottle.

Clear plastic does not protect contents from light. Products containing vegetable oils prone to oxidation, essential oils or natural colorants should be stored out of direct sunlight, or packed in a coloured container instead.

Standard cosmetic formulations containing water, surfactants, oils and fragrance fill into PET without difficulty. Undiluted essential oils and concentrated solvents may degrade the plastic over time and belong in glass. For formulations with a high proportion of alcohol or essential oils, we recommend checking the behaviour of the packaging on a test sample.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food.

The smooth body of the bottle provides ample space for a label; the dimensions needed for its design are listed in the product parameters. Additional closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations are available from Handymade. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying seal integrity, dispensing behaviour and packaging performance with your specific formulation. Both the PET bottle and the polypropylene cap belong in sorted plastic waste collection once empty.

Frequently asked questions

What products is the 100 ml plastic bottle with disc top cap suitable for?
The 100 ml plastic bottle with disc top cap is suitable for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed into the palm: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners, body lotions and oils. Very thin liquids flow from it too quickly, and thick creams or butters will not pass through the narrow opening. A spray pump or a jar is more appropriate for those.
Does the clear plastic bottle protect contents from light?
No, a clear PET bottle transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. For stable products such as shampoos or shower gels, this is generally not a problem. Products containing oils prone to oxidation, essential oils or natural colorants should be kept in a cupboard out of sunlight or filled into a coloured container.
Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with disc top cap suitable for food?
No, the 100 ml plastic bottle and disc top cap set is not approved for contact with food. Both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, so the set is intended for cosmetics: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, body lotions and oils. For food, packaging that is explicitly intended for that purpose must be used.
Can the plastic bottle with disc top be reused?
Yes, both the plastic bottle and the disc top cap can be reused after thorough cleaning. Wash them with warm soapy water, rinse, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry. The cap should be cleaned in the open position so that no residue from the previous product remains in the dispensing channel. A scratched, cloudy or deformed bottle is better replaced.
Is the PET bottle with disc top suitable for oils and products containing alcohol?
Yes, body and massage oils as well as standard cosmetic products containing alcohol fill into a PET bottle with disc top without difficulty. Caution is warranted with undiluted essential oils and concentrated solvents, which may degrade the plastic. For formulations with a higher proportion of these, a test sample and monitoring of the packaging over several weeks is recommended.
