Rice starch is an ultra-fine white powder that has been developed specifically for use in cosmetics.
When applied to the skin, it does not clog the pores and has very good adhesion. It is opaque. It can also be used in lotions. It mixes very well with other powders. Due to its microcrystalline structure, rice powder leaves the impression of velvety skin.
It has a pH of 5.5 which is similar to our skin and therefore does not irritate it. When stored in a sealed container in a dry place at room temperature, it will last up to 5 years.
Insoluble but miscible with water, it swells in hot water.
Average particle size: 7 - 11µ
