Tamanu oil originated in Asia and Polynesia, where it is still considered sacred. It goes by various names such as Foraha, Domba, Kamanu, etc. It is an oil pressed from the kernels of the calabash tree. The kernels of the fruit are dried in the sun for two months until they become sticky with a dark, thick and rich oil. During this period they must be protected from moisture and rain. Only 5 kg of oil is produced from 100 kg of tamanu fruit.

Tamanu oil has a green to yellow-green colour and a typical rich and deep aroma. At temperatures below 20°C it tends to solidify, so it is essential to warm it before use. It naturally restores lipids in the skin, stimulating collagen synthesis and improving skin elasticity.

It has excellent regenerative properties and contains calophylic acid, which has been proven to eliminate scars and stretch marks. It is also effective in skin regeneration after ulcers, shingles, eczema, dermatitis, etc. It is excellent for relieving the symptoms of psoriasis.

It has proven antimicrobial activity, making it excellent in fighting acne and bacterial skin diseases. In addition, it contains anti-inflammatory ingredients that promote healing of acne and ulcers.
