Product description

A white glass bottle with a volume of 10 ml comes with a black aluminium cap and is designed for small cosmetic packaging: serum and facial oil samples, perfume oils, concentrated active ingredient blends or travel-size quantities of a finished product. The white glass with the black cap forms a ready-to-sell packaging that requires no further finishing.

What it is suitable for

Samples and test packaging – the small volume allows you to send a customer a sample of a serum, oil or perfume composition without significant use of raw material.
Concentrates – facial oils, oil serums and blends with active ingredients are used drop by drop. In small packaging they are used up before they lose their freshness.
Perfume and fragrance oils – glass does not react with the contents and does not absorb the scent, so the bottle can be reused for a different composition.
Gift sets – several bottles with the same appearance make a cohesive set, and the black cap combines well with the white glass.

How the set works

The bottle has a vial shape with a narrow neck and a 18/410 thread. The cap is made of aluminium and has an inner sealing insert made of expanded polyethylene (EPE), which presses against the neck when tightened and seals the contents. Dispensing is done by tilting the bottle, without a dropper or pump. With oils and thicker contents this is convenient; with thin aqueous solutions expect faster pouring.

The packaging volume is stated in two ways. Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for under standard filling conditions, and it is this value by which the packaging is selected. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides a margin for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume. When filled to the brim, the contents are pushed out when closing or seep under the cap.

When filling oils and thick serums, use a small funnel or syringe. The neck is narrow and when pouring directly from a larger container the thread easily gets dirty, which then prevents a proper seal.

Good to know

Preparation before filling. Wash both the bottles and the caps before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Moisture inside the packaging shortens the shelf life of anhydrous products and increases the risk of contamination in emulsions.

Reuse. Glass can be washed and reused. When refilling, check that the cap still seals properly, especially with thin contents.

Glass and heat. Do not fill the bottle with hot mixtures. A sudden change in temperature can damage the glass and the hot contents contract as they cool, creating a vacuum under the cap. Allow the product to cool to room temperature before filling.

Label. The cylindrical shape without a pronounced taper allows space for a wraparound label or a small front sticker.

Cosmetics. Both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is intended for cosmetic use. Declarations of conformity are listed with the product.

Recycling. Glass and aluminium belong to different recycling streams, so once the product is used up, separate the cap from the bottle.

How much content actually fits into the 10 ml glass bottle?

The physical volume to the brim is higher, but this difference serves as a margin for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Filling right up to the neck will cause the contents to be pushed out when closing and to seep into the thread. Exact values for both volumes can be found in the product parameters.

Is the 10 ml glass bottle also suitable for aqueous products, such as a toner?

Yes, glass is suitable for aqueous and alcoholic contents as well. The set with an aluminium cap is dispensed by tilting, which is less precise with thin liquids. For toners and hydrolats, a closure with a spray or dropper with the same 18/410 neck is more suitable. Aqueous products require appropriate preservation regardless of the packaging.

How are the glass bottle and aluminium cap cleaned before reuse?

Wash the bottle with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse and disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then leave it to dry upside down. Wash the cap separately and do not leave it soaking for too long, so that the sealing insert does not come loose. Before refilling, check that the insert is intact and that the cap fits tightly.
