Product description

A plastic bottle with a pump dispenser is a ready-made combination of container and closure for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic products dispensed with a single press: liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, and lighter creams. The PET bottle is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it suitable for the bathroom, travel, and shipping. The clear material lets you see the colour and texture of the contents as well as how much is left.

The 100 ml volume is practical for smaller production batches, travel sizes, gift sets, and trial sizes of new formulations. The pump with a shiny silver band screws onto the bottle, keeping the container closed during use. The contents therefore have no contact with fingers or shower water.

How the set dispenses and seals

The pump delivers approximately 0.65 ml of product per press. The dose is consistent, making it easy to estimate usage — for example with liquid soap or body lotion. The contents are drawn up through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle, so the container is used upright.

The pump works best with liquids and emulsions that flow freely. Very thick creams, butters, and balms cannot be reliably drawn up by the dip tube. It is also unsuitable for products with solid particles, such as scrubs with granules or herb pieces, as these may clog the mechanism.

On first use, press the pump several times without product until the dip tube fills and the pump begins to dispense. With thicker products this may take a little longer.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the rim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a buffer: once the pump with its dip tube is screwed on, some of the contents are displaced, and the contents expand with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What's worth knowing before filling

  • Preparing the container – wash the bottle and pump before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Run the disinfectant solution through the pump as well to reach the dip tube and mechanism.
  • Filling temperature – PET does not tolerate high temperatures and hot contents may deform the bottle. Fill products only after they have cooled to near room temperature.
  • Formulation compatibility – the bottle is suitable for aqueous solutions, emulsions, surfactant-based products, and vegetable oils. Undiluted essential oils, concentrated fragrance compounds, and strong solvents may degrade the plastic and should not be used in this container.
  • Labelling – dimensions needed for label design can be found in the specifications of the individual components.

The set is intended for cosmetic products. It is not approved for food contact and is therefore not suitable for syrups, oils, or other food products.

Both the bottle and the pump are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle has a standard neck, the type of which is stated in the specifications. Additional closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing performance, and container behaviour with your specific formulation.

Once it has reached the end of its life, the PET bottle is sorted as plastic. The pump is made of multiple materials, so separate it from the bottle before sorting.

Frequently asked questions

What products is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump dispenser suitable for?
The 100 ml plastic bottle with pump dispenser is suitable for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic products that flow freely: liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, and lighter creams. It is not suitable for very thick creams, butters, or products with solid particles that the pump cannot draw up or that may clog it. The set is not intended for food use.
How much product does the pump on the plastic bottle dispense per press?
The pump delivers approximately 0.65 ml of product per full press. The actual amount varies slightly depending on the viscosity of the product and whether the pump is pressed all the way down. With thicker emulsions, it is worth verifying the dose with the finished product, especially if the label states a recommended amount per use.
Can oil be filled into a PET bottle with a pump dispenser?
Yes, vegetable oils and oil-based body or hair blends can be filled into a PET bottle with a pump dispenser. Caution is advised with a high proportion of essential oils or fragrance compounds, which may degrade the plastic over time. For such products, we recommend conducting a test with a filled bottle over several weeks and monitoring the shape of the bottle and the performance of the pump.
Can a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the pump can be reused, provided they are thoroughly cleaned before refilling. Wash the bottle with warm water and a cleaning agent. Pump clean water followed by isopropyl alcohol or ethanol through the pump to flush the dip tube and mechanism. Allow everything to dry completely. Do not use hot water or boil the bottle — PET deforms under heat.
Does the clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser protect the contents from light?
No, the clear PET bottle transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. For common liquid soaps, shampoos, and body lotions, this is generally not an issue when stored away from direct sunlight. Products containing light-sensitive ingredients are better suited to a coloured container or should be stored in a box or cabinet.
