FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this glass bottle with dispenser suitable for thicker creams as well as lighter emulsions?

The bottle is designed for dispensing standard face and body creams, emulsions and gels. At normal cosmetic viscosity it allows smooth and even dosing. For extremely thick formulations we recommend first testing how the product behaves in the dispenser and, depending on the result, adjusting the recipe if necessary (for example the ratio of waxes, butters or viscosity‑increasing components).

How should I correctly prepare the bottle for first use with my product?

Before first filling we recommend thoroughly cleaning the glass bottle and the dispensing part, rinsing them and letting them dry completely. It is then appropriate to disinfect the internal surfaces with a suitable alcohol‑based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant‑based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured. After the alcohol has evaporated, you can fill the container with the prepared product under the cleanest possible conditions.

Can I reuse this bottle with dispenser for further batches of products?

The packaging can be reused provided you follow strict hygiene rules. After the contents have been used up, always mechanically clean the bottle and the dispenser, rinse them thoroughly and let them dry. Before refilling, it is necessary to disinfect the internal surfaces with alcohol‑based preparations such as IPA 99 % or Ethanol 96 % denatured, and refill with product only after the alcohol has completely evaporated. For professional use we recommend keeping an internal record of the number of reuse cycles and regularly checking the condition of the dispenser and seals.

How should I correctly recycle or environmentally dispose of the glass bottle and dispenser if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to continue using the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material types specified in the product parameters. After emptying and basic cleaning, place the glass part of the bottle in the separate glass collection (glass container). It is advisable to sort the dispenser and plastic components, after unscrewing, with plastic waste if the local collection system allows this. Always follow local waste sorting rules and the information on material composition in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website.
