The black glass bottle with pump is designed for small volumes of cosmetics that need to be dispensed precisely and without fingers touching the contents. Black glass limits the light reaching the contents, which suits serums with sensitive active ingredients, facial oils and concentrates with plant extracts. The 10 ml volume is suited to products applied by the drop or in small amounts: eye serums, concentrated facial serums, cuticle oils, facial oils and samples.

The pump is closed with a clear overcap, under which the gold collar and black head remain visible. The set is suitable for gift packaging as well as for selling small batches. Both the bottle and the pump are declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

• Serums and concentrates – liquid to slightly viscous products that are dispensed in small amounts and contain light-sensitive ingredients.
• Facial and eye oils – the pump dispenses oil without dripping, and fingers do not touch the contents in the neck.
• Nail and cuticle oils – one press is enough for exactly one application.
• Samples and travel packs – for testing a formulation or for customer samples.

How the pump works

The pump dispenses approximately 0.3 ml of the contents per press. With a full bottle, this corresponds to roughly thirty doses, which suits serums and oils, where one dose is spread over the face or eye area. For thicker emulsions and creams, a pump with such a small dose is less suitable, as thick contents are drawn up slowly or not at all. Therefore, check the dispensing with your specific formulation before filling an entire batch.

The dip tube may extend beyond the bottom of the bottle. If the pump cannot be tightened, shorten the tube with a sharp knife so that it reaches just above the bottom. An angled cut helps to draw up the last remnants of the contents.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume, which you will find in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the tube and the pump mechanism and also space for the contents to expand with temperature changes. When designing your formulation, work with the nominal volume.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the pump with ethanol, pump it empty several times and let it dry, so that no water remains in the tube. Residual moisture in an anhydrous oil or serum may compromise the stability of the contents.

The bottle is made of glass and can be reused after thorough cleaning. We recommend reusing the pump only for the same type of product, as remnants of the previous contents in the tube and valve are difficult to remove. The pump mechanism is made of polypropylene with an aluminium collar. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, check the behaviour of the plastic parts with a longer test using your specific formulation.

Black glass does not allow you to see the level of the contents. If you need to monitor consumption, weigh the bottle or keep a note of the number of doses.
