Product description

Glass bottle with a pump for 100 ml of liquid cosmetic products that are applied in small amounts. The green glass filters part of the light, while still letting you see how much content remains in the bottle. The white and silver glossy pump dispenses approximately 0.14 ml per press, so the set is suited above all to facial oils, serums and light emulsions, where an accurate dose matters.

The bottle has a medicine bottle shape with a narrow neck and is made of glass. The pump combines polypropylene, aluminium and another plastic, and its dip tube reaches all the way to the bottom. Both components of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The set is not approved for contact with food and is to be used exclusively for cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial and body oils – the pump dispenses a small amount that is enough for the face or hands, without pouring or dripping down the neck.
  • Serums and fluids – both water-based and oil-based serums with low viscosity pass through the dip tube, and your fingers do not touch the content during use.
  • Light emulsions and lotions – the pump handles a liquid texture. With thicker emulsions, check that they pass through before you fill a larger batch.
  • Hair and beard oils – a small dose can be worked into the ends of the hair or into the beard without weighing the hair down.
  • Massage and base oils in a small pack – the 100 ml volume proves its worth for samples, travel packs or first testing of a formulation with customers.

Filling and dispensing

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dip tube and the pump mechanism. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise part of the content will overflow when the pump is screwed on.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the dip tube would otherwise get into the content.

After filling, the pump is screwed on so that the dip tube reaches the bottom. The first presses fill the dip tube and the mechanism, and only then does the full dose start to come out. When the content drops below the end of the dip tube, the pump stops drawing up product, and the remainder has to be poured out or decanted into a smaller bottle.

Good to know

Do not fill the glass bottle with hot product. Let emulsions and oils cool to room temperature so that the bottle does not crack from thermal shock.

The pump is made of plastic. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, limonene or other solvents, we recommend checking how the mechanism behaves in the finished formulation. Some ingredients may soften the seal over time or change how the pump operates.

The pump is not designed for thick creams or butters. If the product cannot be drawn up through the dip tube, or the pump puts up marked resistance when pressed, choose a jar or a wide-neck bottle.

After thorough washing, the bottle can be reused. The pump is rinsed with warm water and ethanol, but when you change the content from an oil to a water-based product, bear in mind that a film of the previous product will remain in the dip tube. The glass belongs in glass recycling; the pump contains plastic and aluminium, so unscrew it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

How much product does the pump dispense per press?
One full press dispenses approximately 0.14 ml of product. This amount corresponds to a usual dose of facial oil or serum. With thicker textures or an unprimed dip tube the dose may be lower, so after filling we recommend priming the pump with a few presses until an even amount starts to come out.
Is the set with a pump suitable for both water-based and oil-based products?
Yes, the pump handles water-based serums, toners and oils, as long as they have low viscosity. With water-based products, bear in mind that the air drawn into the bottle with each press may come into contact with the content, so the formulation must be properly preserved. With oils containing a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking that they do not affect the plastic mechanism.
How many ml can be filled into the glass bottle with a pump?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not up to the neck. The brimful capacity is larger and is stated in the parameters, but this difference serves as a reserve for the dip tube and the pump mechanism. If the bottle is overfilled, part of the product will overflow through the neck when the pump is screwed on.
Can the glass bottle with a pump be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the pump can be reused after washing. The glass is washed in warm water with washing-up liquid and disinfected with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, and the pump is rinsed by repeatedly pumping warm water through it, followed by ethanol. Both parts must dry completely before the new filling, otherwise residual water will get into the content.
Is the glass bottle with a pump suitable for homemade oils or syrups?
No, the set is not approved for contact with food. Neither the bottle nor the pump has a certificate for food use, so use them only for cosmetic products. Suitability for contact with cosmetics is declared for both components of the set.
