Product description
This amber glass medicine bottle with a black and gold glossy pump, 10 ml, is designed for concentrated cosmetics applied in small doses: face serums, oil-based concentrates of active ingredients or eye area care. Amber glass reduces light transmission, so contents that are sensitive to oxidation stay better protected than in clear packaging. With each press, the pump dispenses the same small dose, so the product is applied precisely and does not come into contact with your fingers. The clear overcap protects the pump head from dust while keeping the head visible.
What this set is suitable for
- Face serums – water-based and oil-based serums with active ingredients, dosed with one or two presses for the whole face.
- Oil-based concentrates – blends of vegetable oils and oil extracts for the face, neck or décolletage, where amber glass limits the effect of light on the contents.
- Eye area care – light serums, where a precise small dose matters more than the size of the pack.
- Samples and travel packs – 10 ml is enough to try out a formula or for several weeks of use.
How the pump works
The pump draws the contents up through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle and, when the head is pressed, dispenses approximately 0.3 ml. For serums applied by the drop, this roughly corresponds to one application on the face. Each press dispenses the same amount, so the set is also suitable for products where the dose per use is part of the instructions.
It works best with liquid and slightly viscous contents. For thicker textures, such as gel serums with a higher proportion of thickener, we recommend testing beforehand that the pump draws the contents reliably and that the dip tube does not clog.
Before filling a larger batch, fill one test bottle, leave it for several days and check that the pump is tight and that the dose does not change over time.
Filling and volume
The nominal volume of 10 ml is the amount the medicine bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity given in the parameters is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck. The difference between the two is a reserve for the dip tube and the pump body, which take up part of the space once screwed on. Fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents are pushed out through the thread when the pump is fitted and the bottle leaks.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Moisture left in the dip tube would get into the contents. The amber glass medicine bottle can be reused after washing. Before each new filling, rinse the pump, leave it to dry and check that it is tight and dispenses as before once fitted. If residues of oil remain in the dip tube or the head sticks, replace the pump.
The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the amber glass medicine bottle has a certificate for direct food contact; the pump does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
Do not use the set with the pump for food, syrups or herbal infusions. Only the glass bottle on its own, without the pump, is of food-grade quality.
Closures with the same neck finish as stated in the parameters, and ready-made combinations of packaging with a closure, are available in the Handymade range. If you combine them yourself, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
Glass belongs in glass recycling. The pump combines plastic and aluminium, so separate it from the bottle before recycling and dispose of it separately.
