Amber Glass Bottle, Glossy Gold Black Pump With Clear Overcap, 15 ml

The set of an amber glass medicine bottle, 15 ml, with a glossy black and gold pump is intended for filling small volumes of cosmetics that are applied by the drop and need protection from light. Amber glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, so the bottle is filled mainly with facial and eye serums, concentrates of active ingredients, facial oils and oil blends with essential oils. The pump dispenses roughly the same amount with each press, so the user does not have to estimate the dose or open the bottle. The glossy black and gold pump has a clear overcap.

What it is suitable for

• Serums and concentrates – the small volume and a dose of about 0.3 ml per press suit products that are applied in amounts of a few drops.
• Facial oils and oil serums – amber glass slows the effect of light on oils prone to oxidation, and the pump dispenses them without running down the neck.
• Samples and travel packs – 15 ml is enough to test a formulation or for a pack that the customer uses up within a few weeks.
• Hair and scalp products – oil treatments and light serums for hair ends, where small amounts are dispensed.

Filling and dispensing

The medicine bottle has a nominal volume of 15 ml. The brimful capacity is larger and can be found in the parameters. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The remainder is a reserve for the dip tube and pump body and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill it up to the nominal volume, not up to the neck, otherwise the contents will overflow once the pump is fitted.

The pump works best with contents of a liquid to medium-thick consistency. Very thin, watery toners may drip from the nozzle, and the pump may not draw up thick creams and balms. For borderline viscosities, we recommend testing the dispensing with your specific formulation before filling a whole batch.

Good to know

• Preparation before filling – new packaging is not sterile. Before first use, wash the glass, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the pump and dry it thoroughly, as residual water would get into the product.
• Reuse – the medicine bottle can be refilled after washing. The pump is harder to clean, so it is better to replace it when changing formulations that have a strong fragrance or colour.
• Pump material – the pump combines polypropylene and aluminium. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the pump with your specific formulation over several weeks.
• Protection from light does not replace preservation – water-based products need a preservative system and oil blends need an antioxidant, depending on the formulation.
• Recycling – glass belongs with glass; the pump combines plastic and aluminium and is disposed of separately from the medicine bottle.
