Product description
The brown glass bottle with a dispenser is a ready-to-use complete set for oils dispensed in small amounts. It consists of a brown glass bottle with a capacity of 50 ml, a plastic oil pump dispenser, and a transparent protective cap. Suitable for face and hair oils, oil serums, nail and cuticle oils, beard oils, or light massage blends in smaller packaging.
Brown glass reduces light transmission, protecting oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins from premature oxidation. Each press of the dispenser releases a small, repeatable dose, so the contents do not come into contact with hands and the bottle does not open during use. The complete set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity and test reports are available with the product.
What the set offers
- Light protection – brown glass transmits less light than clear glass, slowing the oxidation of oils and the fading of natural pigments and fragrance components.
- Precise dosing – one press releases a small, always consistent amount of oil (the dose is stated in the product parameters). An advantage with concentrated face oils, where you work in drops, not palmfuls.
- Hygienic use – the contents are not scooped out with fingers nor is the bottle turned upside down. This reduces the risk of contaminating an anhydrous preparation, which typically contains no preservative.
- Chemically resistant glass – glass does not react with oils or essential oils and does not absorb odours, making it suitable for repeated filling.
- Transparent cap – protects the dispenser head from dust and accidental pressing in a cosmetic bag or during transport.
Nominal and total volume
The bottle has a nominal volume of 50 ml, meaning the amount for which the container is designed for standard filling. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger and provides a reserve for the dip tube and the dispenser body, which occupy part of the space when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. It should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
What preparations is the set designed for
The dispenser is designed for liquid and medium-viscosity oils. It works well with pure vegetable oils (jojoba, apricot kernel, almond, argan), their blends with essential oils, and oil serums with oil-soluble active ingredients. It is also suitable for cuticle oils, beard oils, hair-end oils, or natural oil-based make-up removers.
With thicker oils (castor oil) or blends with a thickened texture, dispensing slows down and the pump draws with more difficulty. The dispenser will let through water-based solutions and emulsions, but it is not primarily designed for them; for such use we recommend testing the dispensing and seal with the specific formulation.
Undiluted essential oils and preparations with a higher proportion of solvents (isopropyl alcohol, high content of ethanol) may affect the plastic parts of the dispenser over prolonged contact. For blends where essential oils make up a standard low proportion in a carrier oil, there is no issue; for concentrates we recommend monitoring the dispenser behaviour over time.
Working with the packaging
Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let it dry completely – residual water in an anhydrous oil promotes the growth of microorganisms. Treat the dispenser the same way; after disinfection, press it several times into the air to clear any remaining alcohol from the dip tube.
After filling, fit the dispenser, screw it straight and without excessive force to avoid damaging the thread. Before first use, the dispenser must be pressed several times until the dip tube fills and it starts dispensing. If the dip tube rests against the bottom and bends, it can be trimmed with a sharp knife to just reach the bottom – trim no shorter, or the dispenser will not collect all the contents.
Oils dispense better at room temperature. Let a preparation stored in the cold stand for a moment before use; cold oil is thicker and the first pumps may be weaker.
The bottle has a cylindrical shape with a straight wall. When refilling with the same type of oil, it is sufficient to wash and disinfect the bottle. When changing the formulation, flush the dispenser thoroughly with warm soapy water and then with alcohol, so residues of the old oil do not mix with the new one.
The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certification; the complete set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. Closures with the same neck type as stated in the product parameters, and other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range; for a custom combination we recommend testing the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.
After use, the glass goes into glass recycling, the dispenser and cap into plastics – separate them before sorting.
