Product description

Glass bottle, vial, oil dispenser, 15 ml is a ready-made combination of a brown glass bottle and an oil dispenser with a transparent protective cap. Suitable for facial and hair oils, oil serums, carrier oil blends with essential oils, and other liquid anhydrous preparations that you want to dose precisely and without touching the contents. Brown glass filters light and slows down the oxidation of oils sensitive to UV radiation. The small volume is suitable for samples, travel packaging, or concentrated preparations used drop by drop.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food.

Key benefits

  • Protection of contents from light – brown glass transmits less light than clear glass, which is an advantage for oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids (rosehip, lingonberry, hemp) and for blends with essential oils.
  • Precise dosing – the dispenser delivers approximately 0.18 ml per press, which is enough for one application of serum on the face or a few drops of oil in the palm. No need to estimate the amount as with a dropper.
  • Hygienic use – the contents do not come into contact with fingers and are exposed to air only minimally, which protects oils from contamination and premature oxidation.
  • Transparent cap – protects the dispenser head from dust and accidental pressing in a bag or on a shelf, while also allowing you to see that the dispenser is clean.
  • Glass with no odour memory – the glass bottle does not absorb the scent of its contents, and after thorough washing it can be reused for a different oil.

How the set works and how to fill it

The dispenser screws onto the bottle neck just like a regular cap. The suction tube reaches the bottom and when the head is pressed, it delivers the contents into the palm or directly onto the skin. After fitting, several empty presses are needed until the dispenser fills up and begins to dispense evenly. This is normal behaviour, not a defect.

When filling, it is important to distinguish between the nominal and total volume. The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the dispenser body, which take up some space once screwed on, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the oil will overflow when screwing on the dispenser.

The suction tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, cut it straight so that it reaches just above the bottom. A tube bent against the bottom draws less effectively and the dispenser may dose unevenly.

Suitable for products such as

  • Facial oils and oil serums – liquid blends of carrier oils with active oil-based ingredients, where precise dosing per application matters.
  • Beard oils and hair end treatments – small doses applied to the palm and spread through.
  • Blends with essential oils – brown glass protects sensitive components, and the dispenser reduces evaporation compared to an open neck.
  • Cuticle oils and massage concentrates – smaller packaging used up gradually.
  • Samples and travel packaging – the small volume is practical for testing a formulation or packing in a cosmetic bag.

The dispenser is designed for liquid and mildly viscous oils. Thick butters, balms, gels with a thickener, or cream-consistency emulsions will not pass through or will jam the dispenser. For thicker oils (castor, avocado in cooler environments) we recommend testing the dispensing first.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil preparation promotes microbial growth and impairs stability. For the dispenser, rinsing with clean alcohol and letting it drain is sufficient. Water should not enter the dispenser, as it would be difficult to remove.

Essential oils and plastic. Glass is resistant to essential oils, however the dispenser body and tube are made of plastic. Diluting essential oils in a carrier oil at standard ratios (up to a few percent) is standard use. At high concentrations or with neat essential oils, we recommend checking compatibility on a single unit and monitoring whether the plastic softens, becomes cloudy, or whether the dispenser loses its seal.

Leak-tightness during transport. Dispensers of this type are not lockable; the head may be pressed during transit. The transparent cap prevents accidental pressing, but when shipping it is still advisable to pack the set upright and secure the head.

Reuse. The glass bottle can be reused after washing. The dispenser is harder to clean; the inside of the tube and piston retains residues of the previous oil. When changing the formulation or after oxidised contents, it is advisable to replace the dispenser.

Labelling. The cylindrical shape allows wrapping with a label. For oils, it is advisable to use a grease-resistant label or to varnish it, as a drop of oil on a paper label spreads quickly.

Closures and combinations. The neck type of the bottle is listed in the product parameters. Further closures with the same neck and ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing, and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

Recycling. After use, glass and plastic parts are sorted separately according to local guidelines.

The set is not approved for contact with food. Use it only for cosmetic preparations, not for edible oils, tinctures for internal use, or herbal syrups.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 15 ml glass bottle with oil dispenser suitable for a facial oil with essential oils?
Yes, the set is suitable for standard dilutions of essential oils in a carrier oil. Brown glass protects the blend from light and the dispenser reduces evaporation compared to an open neck. At high concentrations of essential oils or with neat essential oils, we recommend checking on a single unit whether the plastic parts of the dispenser change in appearance or lose their seal.
How much oil does the oil dispenser deliver per press?
The dispenser delivers approximately 0.18 ml per full press, which is roughly a few drops. This amount corresponds to one application of serum on the face or beard oil. The first presses after fitting are empty until the tube and piston fill up; the dose is then even. With thicker oils or in cold conditions the dose may be slightly smaller.
Can the oil dispenser be used for cream or thick butter?
No, the dispenser is intended for liquid and mildly viscous oils. Creams, emulsions, balms, and thick butters will not pass through the fine tube and piston or will block the dispenser. For cream textures, jars or bottles with a pump designed for emulsions are more suitable. For borderline products, such as castor oil, we recommend testing the dispensing first.
How much oil should I fill into the bottle with the dispenser?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The total volume to the neck is larger and provides a reserve for the tube and dispenser body, which take up some space once screwed on, and for expansion of the contents in warmer weather. Overfilling causes oil to overflow through the neck when fitting the dispenser and contaminates the thread, which impairs the seal.
Can I fill edible oil or syrup into this bottle with a dispenser?
No, the set is not approved for contact with food. The bottle, dispenser, and transparent cap do not have food-grade certification, so the set is intended exclusively for cosmetic preparations such as facial and hair oils or massage blends. For food use, choose packaging that states food-contact suitability in its parameters.
How to prepare the bottle and oil dispenser before first filling, and can they be reused?
Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely so that no water gets into the oil. Rinse the dispenser with alcohol and let it drain. Glass can be reused after washing; however, the dispenser retains residues of the old oil in the tube and piston. When changing the formulation or after oxidised contents, we recommend replacing it.
