Amber Plastic Bottle, Oil Pump, 115 ml

The amber PET medicine bottle with a treatment pump and a clear overcap is a set for facial, body and massage oils, which are dispensed by pressing the pump without unscrewing the closure. The 115 ml volume suits everyday use at home as well as selling a finished oil product in lightweight, unbreakable packaging.

The amber colour of the material filters light and so slows light-induced changes in the oil, especially changes in fragrance and colour. The PET bottle is lightweight, does not break when dropped and copes with the bathroom and with travel, where glass would be a nuisance.

What it is suited for

• Facial and hair oils – the pump delivers a small, repeatable amount, so the oil does not spill or drip down the neck.
• Massage and body oils – the 115 ml volume is enough for extended use, and the pump can be operated with one hand, even with oily fingers.
• Cleansing oils and oil serums – the product is dispensed straight onto the palm without your hands touching the contents of the bottle.
• Bath oils and aromatherapy blends – the same dose with every press makes precise dosing easier.

Treatment pump and clear overcap

The black treatment pump is designed for liquid oils and liquids of a similar consistency. One press delivers approximately 0.18 ml, which corresponds to one dose for the face or a few drops into the palm. The tube reaches all the way to the bottom of the bottle, so almost all of the contents can be used up without tilting.

The clear PS overcap protects the pump head from dust and from accidental pressing during transport or in a bag. It is removed before use and put back on after dispensing. The whole packaging remains visible through the clear plastic.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 115 ml is the volume the bottle is intended for with standard filling. The total volume up to the neck is slightly larger, and the difference provides room for the tube and the pump head. Fill the bottle only up to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the oil will overflow when the pump is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would mix with the oil and could reduce its stability.

The pump is built for liquid to medium-thick oils. With thicker oils, for example pure castor oil, or with oil balms containing wax, pressing becomes harder and the dose may vary. Therefore, check how the pump behaves with your particular formulation before filling larger quantities.

Undiluted essential oils, pure essential oils and some solvents may damage the plastic over the long term. For common cosmetic oils with essential oils at the usual usage rate PET is suitable; at a higher concentration we recommend checking compatibility.

Only the amber PET bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact. Neither the pump nor the clear overcap has such a certificate, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

The set consists of three parts: the PET bottle, the plastic pump and the PS overcap. Separate them before recycling and sort them according to the material marking.
