Amber Plastic Bottle, Black Aluminium Cap, 115 ml

The amber plastic medicine bottle, 115 ml, with a black aluminium cap is packaging for liquid cosmetic products that need protection from light. Amber PET reduces the amount of light reaching the contents. For products with plant extracts, essential oils or more sensitive oils, it therefore extends the time before a change in fragrance or colour appears. Plastic is light and does not break, which you will appreciate when shipping to customers and when travelling. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

A volume of 115 ml corresponds to the usual size of a facial toner, hydrosol or oil intended for several weeks of use. The medicine bottle shape with a narrower neck makes it easier to pour into the palm or onto a cotton pad, and the contents do not spill out all at once when the bottle is opened.

• Toners and hydrosols – water-based products that are applied to a pad or decanted into a smaller sprayer.
• Facial and massage oils – vegetable oils and oil blends, where amber plastic slows down yellowing accelerated by light.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – homemade extracts in a smaller quantity for further use in formulations.
• Samples and travel packs – light and unbreakable packaging for carrying finished products.

Cap and seal

The black aluminium cap has a thread that matches the neck of the bottle and an EPE liner inside. Once tightened, it sits against the rim of the neck and limits leakage when the bottle is tilted or transported.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always larger. The difference between them provides room for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and cap in warm water with detergent, rinse them thoroughly, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely upside down. Do not use boiling water, as the PET could deform. Residual water in the packaging could affect the microbiological stability of a water-based product.

Pure essential oils and some solvents may affect plastic during prolonged contact. For high concentrations of essential oils or for alcohol-based products with a high alcohol content, we recommend checking the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation. Common vegetable oils, hydrosols and toners with the usual proportion of essential oils are routinely filled into PET.

After thorough washing, the bottle can be reused. Wash the cap separately and check the liner for swelling or punctures. If it is damaged, replace the closure. For recycling, the bottle belongs with plastics and the cap with metals, so they should be separated before disposal.
