Product description

Amber glass medicine bottle, 15 ml, with white fine mist sprayer is a small spray container for toners, hydrosols, facial mists, perfume waters and other thin cosmetic preparations that are applied as a spray. Amber glass filters light, so contents that are sensitive to sunlight, such as hydrosols, aqueous extracts or solutions with active ingredients, stay better protected than in clear packaging. The 15 ml volume is enough for a sample, a travel pack or a small batch that you want to try before filling a larger bottle.

The set consists of a bottle and a white mechanical sprayer with a dip tube. The sprayer screws onto the neck of the bottle and dispenses the contents as a fine mist when pressed. The packaging is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity on the product page.

What it is good for

  • Facial toners and hydrosols – thin water-based preparations are dispersed evenly through the sprayer without your hands touching the contents, which is also an advantage for hygiene.
  • Perfume waters and fragrance sprays – the small volume is suitable for testing a new fragrance composition or as a sample for customers.
  • Hair sprays and refreshing mists – light solutions without thickeners, where the dose should be small and fine.
  • Samples and travel packs – amber glass and the sprayer protect the contents during transport, and the bottle fits into a cosmetic bag without any problem.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 15 ml is the volume the packaging is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity, given in the parameters, is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between the two provides a reserve for the sprayer tube, which displaces part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and for a slight change in volume when the temperature fluctuates. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume, never to the brim.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. It is enough to rinse the sprayer with clean water and let it drain. The tube dries more slowly, so allow some time for it.

Good to know

The mechanical sprayer is designed for thin liquids. It dispenses aqueous solutions, hydrosols, toners or perfume waters with alcohol reliably. With thicker serums, preparations containing a thickener or pure oils, no mist is formed, the contents come out in a stream or the mechanism gets clogged. For such contents, we recommend checking the behaviour on a small amount first.

One dose is approximately 0.13 ml, which is an amount suitable for refreshing the skin or applying to the palm without wasting the contents. If you combine the packaging with your own formulation, especially one with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the tightness and the behaviour of the plastic parts over several weeks.

Both the bottle and the sprayer are intended for repeated use. The glass withstands normal washing with warm water. You will find closures with the same neck type, given in the parameters, and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range.

The set is not approved for contact with food. It is intended exclusively for cosmetic products. Do not use it for homemade syrups, oils or herbal extracts intended for consumption.

Glass belongs in the glass recycling bin, and the polypropylene sprayer is sorted as plastic. Before disposal, unscrew both parts and sort them separately.

Frequently asked questions

Does amber glass protect the contents of the bottle from light?
Yes, amber glass filters the passage of light and reduces the exposure of the contents to UV radiation. Hydrosols, aqueous extracts, vitamin solutions or perfume waters are therefore better protected in an amber bottle than in clear packaging. However, do not leave the contents in direct sunlight. The packaging only slows down the effect of light; it does not remove it completely.
How much can actually fit into a 15 ml bottle with a sprayer?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 15 ml, not to the brim. The physical volume up to the neck is slightly larger; you will find the exact value in the parameters. The reserve is necessary because the sprayer tube pushes the liquid level upwards when screwed in, and the contents change volume slightly with temperature changes. If overfilled, the contents may leak through the thread.
Is the sprayer suitable for an oil serum or facial oil?
No, the mechanical sprayer is designed for thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids. Pure oils and viscous serums are not atomised into a mist through the nozzle; they come out in a stream or clog the mechanism. A medicine bottle with a dropper or a pump is more suitable for oils. If you still want to try the sprayer, test it on a small amount first.
Can the bottle with the sprayer be reused?
Yes, both parts are intended for repeated use. Wash the glass bottle with warm water and washing-up liquid, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. Rinse the sprayer by pumping it several times in clean water and then pumping it dry, so that the tube empties. The scent of a perfume water may not be removed from the plastic parts completely.
Is this set also suitable for alcohol-based contents, such as perfume water?
Yes, the sprayer dispenses alcohol-based solutions without difficulty, and the glass is resistant to alcohol. With a high proportion of alcohol or essential oils, we recommend checking the behaviour of the plastic parts of the sprayer on a smaller sample, to find out whether the mechanism hardens or leaks over time. In any case, do not fill the bottle above the nominal volume, as alcohol-based contents expand more noticeably when warm.
