Product description

This green glass bottle with a volume of 15 ml and a plastic pump is used to dispense liquid cosmetic products without opening the bottle. Each press dispenses approximately the same dose, the contents do not spill and fingers do not come into contact with them. It is suitable above all for face serums, oil serums, face and hair oils, active ingredient concentrates and eye products in small packaging, or for samples and travel versions of larger products.

The glossy black and gold pump with a clear overcap gives the packaging a coherent look; no further closure is needed. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product.

What it is suitable for

  • Serums and concentrates – water-based and oil serums of low to medium viscosity, dispensed in drops or small doses.
  • Face and hair oils – oil blends and macerated oils, where the pump replaces a dropper.
  • Eye and targeted products – products with a higher proportion of active ingredients, where a precise, small dose is desirable.
  • Samples and travel packs – the small volume and closed dispensing make it easier to carry in a bag or to hand out test versions.

How to work with the set

It is a pump with a dip tube. The contents are drawn up from the bottom of the bottle and one press dispenses approximately 0.3 ml. Such a small dose suits serums and oils, where only a few drops are needed for one use. The pump draws up thick creams and gel-like products with difficulty or not at all; a jar or a pump with a larger dose is more suitable for them.

The dip tube of the pump is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first assembly, trim it so that it touches the bottom but does not bend. Then screw on the pump and prime it by pressing it several times until the tube fills; it is then ready to use.

Trim the tube with sharp scissors at an angle. An angled end does not stick to the bottom and the pump draws the contents down to a lower level.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 15 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brim-full volume, given in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dip tube and the pump body, which take up part of the space after screwing on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume. If it were filled to the brim, the contents would be pushed out through the neck when the pump is fitted.

Good to know

  • Preparation before filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Disinfect the pump by flushing alcohol through it and leave it to dry as well.
  • Temperature of the contents – hot contents must not be filled into glass. Leave emulsions and oils to cool; a sudden temperature difference can damage the glass.
  • Contents with alcohol and essential oils – the pump body is made of PP and aluminium. For products with a high proportion of alcohol, essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and condition of the pump after several weeks in your specific formulation.
  • Residue at the bottom – a pump with a dip tube does not take out absolutely all of the contents. The last drops remain below the end of the tube, which you should allow for with a small volume.
  • Food – the set is not approved for contact with food and is intended for cosmetics.
  • Reuse – the glass bottle can be refilled repeatedly after washing and disinfection. The pump is harder to clean; you will find the procedure in the questions below.

Before filling a larger batch, check on a single piece that the pump behaves consistently with your product. A change in viscosity, phase separation or a sticking pump only shows over time.

Frequently asked questions

Can the pump on the 15 ml glass bottle be used for cream?
Not for ordinary cream. The pump is designed for liquid and slightly viscous products such as serums, oils and light lotions. The pump cannot draw up a thick cream, or it dispenses it unevenly, and the tube may clog. A jar or a bottle with a pump intended for higher viscosity is more suitable for creams.
How much can actually be filled into the 15 ml glass bottle with a pump?
Up to the nominal volume, that is 15 ml. The physical volume up to the neck is larger, but the space above the nominal volume is taken up by the pump body with the dip tube and by the reserve for expansion of the contents. If you fill a larger amount, the contents are pushed out through the neck when the pump is screwed on and soil the thread.
How do you clean the pump for reuse?
By flushing. Remove the pump, pump warm water with a small amount of surfactant through it, then clean water and finally ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Leave it to dry completely. Wash and disinfect the bottle in the same way. With oil contents a residue may remain in the tube, so repeat the flushing.
Is the glass bottle with a pump suitable for both water-based and oil contents?
Yes, the glass and the pump handle water-based, emulsion and oil products of ordinary viscosity. With oils the tube fills more slowly, so press the pump several times before first use. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity is with the product.
Can the green 15 ml glass bottle be used with a different closure?
Yes, the neck of the bottle has the standard thread given in the parameters. Closures, droppers and sprayers with the same neck type, as well as other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with the specific contents.
