Product description

A white glass vial with a capacity of 15 ml and a nasal spray dispenser form a complete set for small quantities of liquid cosmetic preparations applied as a fine mist in a measured dose. The white glass conceals the contents and limits light exposure, which is appreciated for hydrolats, tonics and aqueous solutions with active ingredients sensitive to light.

The dispenser has a narrow nozzle and a pump with a small dose. It disperses a tiny amount of liquid onto a targeted area, making it suitable where a regular spray would dispense too much or too wide. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the dispenser has certification for food contact, so it is not suitable for infusions, syrups or other preparations intended for ingestion.

What the set is suitable for

  • Hydrolats and tonics in travel size – the small volume and screw cap allow you to take the preparation in your handbag or while travelling.
  • Aqueous solutions of active ingredients – water-based serums and low-viscosity solutions applied as a fine mist.
  • Refreshing and aromatic sprays – small doses of fragrant water or diluted aromatic blends for the room, textiles or a pillow.
  • Samples and test batches – when developing a formula, just fill a few millilitres and observe the behaviour of the formulation in a real container.

How the dispenser works

The pump draws the contents through the tube and releases approximately 0.12 ml of liquid with each press. The dose is indicative and depends on the viscosity of the contents. Thicker solutions spray poorly and the pump may dispense irregularly or become clogged. The set is intended for thin aqueous or mildly alcoholic liquids. Oils, emulsions and gels do not belong in it – the dispenser cannot create a mist from them.

Before first use, press the pump several times with no liquid until the tube and nozzle fill with the contents. After the last use, a small residue of liquid remains in the tube, which should be taken into account when measuring the fill quantity.

The dispenser tube is longer than the bottle. Before screwing it on, shorten it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it ends just above the bottom. The pump will then draw up to the last drops and the tube will not kink.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 15 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed for under standard filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is greater, as the space up to the neck also includes a reserve for the dispenser tube, air above the liquid and possible expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, liquid will be forced out through the neck when the dispenser is attached, contaminating the thread and reducing the seal.

The bottle has an 18/410 thread. Closures with the same neck type and further ready-made combinations of bottle and closure are available in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and container behaviour with the specific formulation.

What is worth knowing

Before the first fill, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. It is sufficient to rinse the dispenser with clean water or diluted alcohol, press it empty several times and let it dry. The glass bottle can be reused after thorough cleaning. For the dispenser this depends on the contents: aqueous solutions rinse out easily, residues of fragrance components in the nozzle are more difficult to remove and may affect the next fill.

The dispenser combines plastic parts and a steel spring. With contents containing a higher proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or alcohol, we recommend checking whether the plastic changes colour, softens or the nozzle deforms over time. Glass is resistant to such contents.

Aqueous preparations in a spray container need a preservative system, even if you do not touch the contents during application. The tube and nozzle remain moist after use and, without preservation, microorganisms will multiply in them.

Glass belongs in glass recycling, the dispenser is sorted separately as multi-material packaging.

The set is not approved for food contact. Use it exclusively for cosmetic preparations intended for skin, hair or room use.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white 15 ml glass vial protect the contents from light?
Yes, white glass conceals the contents so no direct light falls on them as it would with clear glass. It is therefore suitable for hydrolats, tonics and aqueous solutions with active ingredients sensitive to light. However, it does not replace proper preservation or storage out of direct sunlight – it merely reduces the effect of light on the stability of the contents.
Can oil or emulsion be filled into the 18/410 nasal spray?
No, the dispenser is designed for thin aqueous or mildly alcoholic liquids. Oils and emulsions have higher viscosity, the pump draws them with difficulty and cannot create a mist from them. For oil serums, a bottle with a dropper is more appropriate.
How much liquid does one press of the nasal spray dispenser release?
One press releases approximately 0.12 ml, which is an indicative value for aqueous contents. With more viscous solutions the dose changes and spraying is less regular. On first use the pump needs to be pressed several times with no liquid until the tube fills and the dose stabilises.
Is the glass vial and nasal spray set suitable for food?
No, the set does not have certification for food contact. Suitability for food contact is not declared for either the bottle or the dispenser, so it is not suitable for infusions, syrups, edible oils or other preparations intended for ingestion. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.
How to clean the nasal spray before reuse?
Rinse the dispenser with warm water or diluted alcohol and press it several times to clean both the tube and the nozzle. Then let it dry. Wash the bottle, disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. If fragrance or oily residues remain in the nozzle, it is better to replace the dispenser, as it may affect the scent of the new fill.
