Product description

A complete set of a black glossy glass bottle 10 ml and a white dispenser in a nasal spray configuration with an extended narrow nozzle. Designed for small volumes of thin, water-based products applied precisely and in a fine, measured dose: tonics, hydrolat mists, refreshing face and décolleté sprays, travel or sample packaging. The opaque black glass protects the contents from light, which is particularly valued for hydrolats, infusions and water-based serums with sensitive active ingredients. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the food contact attestation belongs to the glass bottle alone; the complete set is intended for cosmetic products.

How to use the set

The dispenser works simply: pressing the head draws a small, always consistent amount of contents from the bottle through the tube and dispenses it through the nozzle as a fine dispersed stream. Compared to a standard atomiser, it has a narrower and longer nozzle, so the dose can be directed precisely to a small area rather than broadly. The head screws directly onto the bottle neck with the same thread type.

The mechanism is designed for thin liquids similar to water. It reliably dispenses hydrolats, tonics, low-viscosity water-based serums and infusions. Oils, gels, emulsions and thicker products will not pass through the nozzle; the dose will be incomplete or the nozzle will clog.

The dispenser tube is significantly longer than the bottle. Before fitting it for the first time, trim it with a clean sharp knife at an angle so it reaches just to the bottom without bending. A tube that is too long will kink inside the small bottle and the dispenser will not draw.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for during standard filling, and the label content is stated accordingly. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is always larger. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the body of the dispenser, which take up some space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; an overfilled bottle will overflow once the head is attached. Exact values for both volumes are given in the specifications.

What is good to know

  • Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. The dispenser only needs to be rinsed with clean water or diluted alcohol and pressed empty a few times to remove any liquid.
  • Repeated use – the glass bottle can be reused after washing and disinfection. Rinse the dispenser thoroughly between different contents; residues of fragrance components are more difficult to remove from plastic parts, so a new dispenser is preferable when changing the fragrance.
  • Alcohol and essential oils – with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, verify the nozzle behaviour and seal integrity over time, not only at the time of filling.
  • Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents; a sudden temperature difference can damage the glass. Allow the product to cool to room temperature before filling.
  • Nasal products – the name of the dispenser refers to the nozzle type and dosing method. Products intended for application into the nasal cavity are not classified as cosmetic products and their placing on the market is governed by different regulations.
  • Labelling – light or metallic labels and transparent films with white print stand out well on the glossy black glass. Bottle dimensions are listed in the specifications.
  • Recycling – the glass bottle goes with glass waste; the dispenser is a combination of plastics, steel and glass and should be separated from the bottle after use.

Before filling a full batch, fill one unit with the finished formulation and observe the seal, dose consistency and nozzle behaviour for a few days. Other closures with the same neck type and further ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range; for a custom combination, verify the seal and dosing with the specific product.

Suitable for products such as

  • Hydrolat and toning sprays – thin water-based products where black glass protects sensitive ingredients from light.
  • Refreshing face mists – small packaging for the handbag or travel, a fine dose without dripping.
  • Samples and test packaging – a 10 ml volume is sufficient for a customer to try the product and to assess the stability of a new formulation.
  • Scalp sprays – the narrow nozzle delivers precisely between the hair without unnecessary waste.

Frequently asked questions

Is the glass bottle and nasal spray set 10 ml suitable for food contact?
No, the complete set is not approved for food contact. The food contact attestation belongs to the glass bottle alone; the dispenser does not have one, so the complete assembly is intended for cosmetic products. If you need packaging for food contents, combine the bottle with a closure that has its own food contact attestation.
Does the black glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, black glass is opaque and protects the contents from light. It is therefore suitable for hydrolats, water-based serums with vitamins or plant extracts, and other ingredients that degrade or change colour in light. The disadvantage is that the remaining amount of contents cannot be seen through the wall.
Can oil or serum be sprayed with the nasal spray dispenser?
No, the dispenser is designed for thin liquids similar to water. Oils, gel serums and emulsions are too thick for the narrow nozzle; the dose will be incomplete or the mechanism will clog. For oil-based products in the same bottle, a dropper or a pump designed for thicker contents is more appropriate.
How should the bottle and dispenser be prepared before first filling?
Wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Trim the dispenser tube at an angle to the height of the bottle, rinse the dispenser and press it empty several times. Only then pour the product to the nominal volume and screw on the head; the first few presses simply fill the mechanism, and the dose will come after several presses.
Can the nasal spray set be used for alcohol-based products?
Yes, the set can be used for standard alcohol-based tonics and sprays with a lower proportion of essential oils. With a high content of essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying that the nozzle does not deform over time and that the set seals properly, as the plastic parts may react to concentrated components.
