Product description

This is a ready-to-use packaging set with a dispenser for preparations applied in small, precisely measured doses. It consists of a clear PET bottle in a vial shape with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a fitted mechanical nasal spray-type dispenser with a narrow application nozzle. The set is designed for aqueous and low-viscosity cosmetic preparations – hydrolats, refreshing and moisturising sprays, tonics and fine mists for the skin. The transparent material allows you to monitor the fill level; PET is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making the bottle suitable for a handbag or travel.

The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the complete set with the dispenser is intended for cosmetic use.

How the set works

  • Measured dose – each press delivers approximately 0.12 ml of preparation. For water-like liquids the dose is reproducible, making it easier to maintain the recommended amount of active ingredient per application.
  • Fine, targeted mist – the narrow nozzle disperses the content over a small area rather than a broad cloud like a conventional spray. Suitable for localised application or wherever economical use matters.
  • Dip tube reaching the bottom – the intake tube reaches the base of the bottle, so almost all of the content is used up without turning the bottle upside down.
  • Closed system – the dispenser screws tightly onto the neck, limiting contact between the content and the environment between applications and reducing the risk of spillage.

Nominal and total volume

When filling, follow the nominal volume – the quantity the packaging is designed for under normal use. The total volume to the rim is greater; it is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference provides a margin for the dispenser with its dip tube, which occupies some space once screwed on, and for expansion of the content with temperature changes. A bottle overfilled to the brim will overflow when the dispenser is fitted and the dispenser may not draw correctly.

Suitable for products such as

  • Hydrolats and floral waters – thin, aqueous preparations pass through the nozzle without issue and a small dose corresponds to a typical application to the face or décolleté area.
  • Moisturising and refreshing sprays – solutions with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol or low-viscosity extracts.
  • Tonics – including mildly alcoholic ones. At higher alcohol content, verify the behaviour of both the PET and the dispenser seals.
  • Hair and scalp sprays – targeted application to areas a conventional spray cannot reach.
  • Samples and travel sizes – 50 ml is a practical volume for formula testing or small-batch production.

The dispenser is built for aqueous and low-viscosity liquids. Oils, thick serums, gels and emulsions with higher viscosity will not pass through the nozzle or will clog it. For such preparations, choose a bottle with a pump or dropper.

Good to know

Preparation before filling – rinse both the bottle and the dispenser before first use, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Do not disassemble the dispenser; it is sufficient to pump the sanitising solution through several times, followed by clean water.

Priming the dispenser – after fitting, several empty presses are needed until the tube and chamber fill and a consistent dose begins to emerge. Account for this when testing a new formula.

Mechanism materials – inside the dispenser, in addition to plastics, there are also steel and glass components. With preparations of low pH, high salt content or strong chelating agents, we recommend verifying that the mechanism does not corrode over time or alter the dose.

PET and solvents – PET tolerates aqueous and mildly alcoholic solutions well. A high proportion of essential oils, strong solvents or undiluted fragrance compositions may damage the material over time. Use such ingredients only at standard cosmetic concentrations and verify compatibility in the finished formulation.

Preservation – even though the system is closed, an aqueous preparation requires a suitable preservation system. The set does not replace airless packaging.

Labelling – the cylindrical body of the bottle allows a label to be applied around the entire circumference.

Reuse and recycling – the bottle can be refilled after washing and sanitising. The dispenser contains multiple types of material including metal and glass; for recycling it should be separated from the PET bottle and sorted as mixed packaging.

The product category is a matter of formulation, not packaging. The set is declared for cosmetics. If you plan to fill preparations that are not classified as cosmetics, verify the legislative requirements for that type of product in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 50 ml plastic bottle with nasal spray suitable for hydrolats?
Yes, hydrolats and other thin aqueous preparations are the most suitable for this set. The dispenser disperses them into a fine, targeted mist in a small measured dose, which corresponds to a typical application to the face. An aqueous preparation does, however, require a preservation system; the closed dispenser does not replace it.
Can oil or serum be filled into the nasal spray bottle?
No, the dispenser is not suited to oils or viscous serums. The mechanism is built for water-like liquids; a thicker content will not pass through the nozzle or will clog it and the dose will no longer be consistent. For oils and serums, a bottle with a dropper or pump of the same neck type is more appropriate.
How much preparation does one press of the dispenser deliver?
One press delivers approximately 0.12 ml. This figure applies to thin, aqueous solutions; with a thicker or foaming content it may differ. Before the first application, several empty presses are needed to prime the dispenser.
Why is the bottle not filled to the brim when it has a capacity of 50 ml?
The nominal volume is the quantity intended for standard filling; the total volume to the neck is greater. The difference provides a margin for the dispenser with its dip tube and for expansion of the content. If overfilled, the content will overflow when the dispenser is screwed on and the dispenser may draw unevenly.
Is the set with the nasal spray also suitable for food?
No, the complete set is intended for cosmetics. Only the PET bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the dispenser does not. With the dispenser fitted, the packaging is not recommended for food.
Can the nasal spray bottle be cleaned and reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the dispenser can be reused. Wash the bottle, sanitise it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow it to dry. Pump the sanitising solution through the dispenser several times, then follow with clean water to flush out any residue from the previous content. When switching to a different preparation, thorough cleaning is essential; otherwise residues will mix with the new fill.
