Product description

Glass bottle, blue, nasal spray, 30 ml is a ready-made set consisting of a blue glass vial and a white pump with a nasal nozzle, which turns an aqueous solution into a fine mist in small measured doses. It is intended primarily for homemade saline and hydrolate sprays for moisturising and cleansing the nose, but also works for light tonics or refreshing mists in travel size. Blue glass filters light, the pump releases approximately the same amount with each press, and the contents remain sealed from air and direct hand contact.

Why this set

  • Blue glass – chemically stable material that does not react with the contents and limits light exposure. Suitable for sensitive hydrolates or solutions containing essential oils.
  • Measured dose – each press releases approximately 0.12 ml, making application precise and spill-free. With a full fill, this corresponds to several hundred doses.
  • Nasal nozzle – the narrow shape directs the mist precisely and is comfortable for nasal application; also suitable for small areas of skin.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents are neither poured out nor scooped with fingers, so no contaminants enter the bottle during use. The transparent cap protects the nozzle between uses.
  • Neck 18/410 – standard thread; the pump seals tightly on the vial and screws on without tools.

Suitable for products such as

  • isotonic or mildly hypertonic saline solutions made from sea salt or Himalayan salt for home nasal moisturising and cleansing,
  • hydrolate sprays (eucalyptus, mint, rosemary, chamomile) diluted with water or saline solution,
  • light facial mists and tonics in travel size, where a small dose and light protection are valued,
  • water-alcohol refreshers for hands or fabric in small quantities.

The set is not intended for oils, thick serums, or emulsions. The pump is designed for thin aqueous liquids with low viscosity. A thicker fill passes through the tube with difficulty, the mist turns into droplets, and the mechanism may become clogged.

Filling and working with the pump

Nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is intended under normal filling conditions. Total capacity to the brim is larger — it is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference provides a reserve for the pump tube, air above the liquid level, and expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. After screwing on the pump, the liquid level should not reach the neck.

A new pump must be primed by pressing after screwing it on. The tube and pump chamber are empty, and the first mist usually appears after several presses. On every subsequent use, it dispenses immediately.

The pump tube is longer than the height of the bottle and bends when screwed in. Trim it with a sharp diagonal cut so it ends just above the bottom. The pump will then draw the last few millilitres and the tube will not coil.

Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow it to dry completely. Do not disassemble the pump; simply rinse it with clean water by pressing it several times and leave it to dry nozzle-side down. For solutions intended for nasal use, work with boiled or distilled water and clean utensils, prepare the fill in small quantities, and replace it frequently.

Good to know

  • The pump contains plastic parts, a glass ball, and a steel spring. Aqueous and saline solutions cause no issues. With a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking compatibility on a single sample over several weeks.
  • Saline solutions leave salt crystals in the nozzle after evaporation. Wipe the nozzle after use and occasionally flush it with clean water, otherwise the spray opening narrows.
  • The straight cylindrical surface of the bottle is available for a label. Bottle dimensions can be found in the product specifications.
  • Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Do not pour a hot solution into a cold bottle; let it cool first.
  • The bottle is reusable after washing and disinfection. For nasal fills, we recommend replacing the pump with each new fill, or when it stops dispensing evenly.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. It is not approved for direct contact with food and is therefore not suitable for oral sprays, syrups, or other food-grade fills. "Vial" is simply the name for the bottle shape, not a designation for medicinal use.

The pump is matched to the vial by neck type. If you want to use the bottle with a different closure, dropper, or atomiser, choose from the Handymade range by the same neck type and verify the seal and performance with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Glass bottle, blue, nasal spray, 30 ml suitable for a homemade saline solution?
Yes, the set is designed for exactly this purpose — aqueous solutions with low viscosity, and saline solution made from sea salt or table salt belongs to this category. Prepare it using boiled or distilled water, fill a clean disinfected bottle, and make only as much as you will use within a short time. Wipe the nozzle after use to prevent salt from building up in the spray opening.
How many doses fit in the 30 ml nasal spray bottle?
When filled to the nominal volume and with a dose of approximately 0.12 ml, that amounts to several hundred presses. The exact number depends on how close to the bottom the tube reaches and how much solution remains in the pump. Trimming the tube just above the bottom increases how much of the fill can be used.
Does blue glass protect the contents from light?
Yes, blue glass filters light and slows down light-induced changes in scent and colour. It is not as dark as amber glass, however, so store sensitive hydrolates and solutions containing essential oils away from direct sunlight regardless. For contents without light-sensitive components, the protection offered by blue glass is sufficient.
Can the nasal spray pump be used with essential oils?
Only in small amounts and in an aqueous carrier. The pump is designed for thin aqueous liquids; neat oils or oil blends will not pass through the nozzle as mist. For solutions with a few drops of essential oil, we recommend first dissolving the oil in a solubiliser and testing the behaviour of the pump's plastic parts on a trial sample.
How do I prepare the new set before filling it for the first time?
Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the pump with clean water by pressing it several times and leave it to drip dry nozzle-side down. After filling the bottle to the nominal volume and screwing on the pump, press the nozzle several times until the pump is primed and begins to produce an even mist.
