Product description
Amber glass bottle, square, nasal sprayer, 90 ml
This set of a square amber glass bottle and a nasal sprayer is intended for filling with thin water-based solutions that are applied as a metered dose in the form of a fine mist. It suits hydrosols, saline solutions and light water-based toners, and because amber glass dampens light, it is also suitable for light-sensitive contents. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the set is intended for cosmetics.
The sprayer has a long dip tube, a white pump with an extended applicator and a clear overcap that protects the nozzle from dirt. The square bottle stands stably and is easy to hold for one-handed application.
How the set works
- Metered dose – one press of the pump releases approximately 0.12 ml of solution. The dose is the same every time, so the pump dispenses precisely even without a measuring cup.
- Fine mist – the nozzle breaks the liquid into tiny droplets, so the solution spreads evenly and does not run out in a stream.
- Light protection – amber glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, which you will appreciate with herbal infusions, hydrosols and solutions containing light-sensitive active ingredients.
- Neutral glass – the bottle does not absorb scents or colours from the contents and does not react with them, so it can be reused after cleaning.
What it is suitable for
The sprayer is intended for liquids with low viscosity that can be drawn up through the tube and sprayed through the nozzle. Clear or slightly cloudy water-based solutions, hydrosols, saline and herbal solutions, and toners without an oil component are suitable. The pump cannot spray thick, gel or oil-based contents, and the nozzle may become blocked.
Always assess separately whether a specific formulation is suitable for application into the nose and how it is classified under legislation. The set is packaging for cosmetic products and in itself does not determine how the finished preparation may be used.
Fill the bottle with the nasal sprayer only with solutions free of undissolved particles. Even a small amount of sediment or herb residue will settle in the nozzle and the pump will stop dispensing evenly. Filter the solution before filling.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 90 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is larger and expresses the physical space up to the neck. The difference is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the space once screwed in, and for movement of the contents with changes in temperature. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the solution will be pushed out through the thread when the sprayer is fitted.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water, spray it several times and let it dry with the tube pointing down. The pump with its tube is harder to clean than the glass itself, so reuse it only for the same type of contents.
The tube should reach the bottom of the bottle so that all the contents can be drawn up. If it is longer than necessary, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that its end does not rest flat against the bottom.
After filling, prime the pump by pressing it several times until the tube fills and the pump starts dispensing. The first doses are often smaller or irregular, which is normal with any new pump.
When filling, leave headspace in the neck at least as deep as the thread. The pump will then screw in without resistance and the contents will not get onto the outside of the neck, where they could later leak.
Dispose of the glass bottle in glass recycling once used up. The sprayer is made of several materials, including plastics and a steel spring, so it belongs in general waste unless local rules state otherwise. You will find closures with the same 18 mm neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation.
