Product description

A glass nasal spray bottle, 30 ml is a complete set for thin, watery preparations that are applied with precision and in small measured doses – hydrosol refreshers, light tonics or other thin sprays in travel or trial sizes. It consists of a transparent glass bottle with a nominal volume of 30 ml and a white pump with a nasal applicator. The pump releases a small, precisely measured amount of liquid as a fine mist with each press.

Clear glass shows the contents and their purity, but does not protect against light. The complete set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

How the complete set works

  • Measured dose – the mechanism releases approximately 0.12 ml per press. Suitable for preparations where a small and repeatable amount matters.
  • Nasal applicator – the narrow, rounded nozzle enables targeted application to a small area, not the wide spray of a typical tonic sprayer.
  • Dip tube to the bottom – the dip tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so the contents can be used up with almost no residue.
  • Glass as packaging – glass does not react with the contents, does not absorb scent or colour and is easy to clean.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during normal filling, and it is by this that the container is selected and labelled. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the submerged dip tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will overflow when the pump is screwed on. The specific values of both volumes are listed in the specifications.

Use in practice

The pump is designed for thin, watery liquids. Hydrosols, aqueous solutions, light tonics and aromatic waters spray smoothly through it. With thicker preparations, gel textures or oils, the mechanism may clog or merely squirt the liquid instead of atomising it. We recommend testing the suitability of your specific formulation on a trial sample.

The pump components are made from several types of plastic and contain a steel spring. With contents that have a higher proportion of alcohol, essential oils or other solvents, check whether the mechanism changes shape over time, sticks or whether the contents change in scent. The glass bottle itself is resistant to such ingredients.

Before the first fill, wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. After filling and screwing on the pump, press several times without content until the dip tube is filled – only then will it dispense the correct amount.

What is good to know

  • Light – clear glass transmits light. Store light-sensitive contents (essential oils, some plant extracts, coloured ingredients) in the dark or choose amber or blue glass.
  • Reuse – the bottle can be washed and used again. The pump cannot be cleaned on the inside, so for a new fill it is recommended to use a new pump for hygiene reasons, especially for preparations applied to mucous membranes.
  • Preservation of contents – aqueous spray preparations require reliable preservation. The pump does limit contact of the contents with air and fingers, but it does not replace a preservative.
  • Intended use of the complete set – the complete set is declared for contact with cosmetics. If you wish to use it for another type of preparation, assessing its suitability and the relevant requirements is the responsibility of the user. The packaging itself does not determine the purpose of the product.
  • Recycling – the bottle goes with glass, the pump is made from several materials and is sorted separately from the bottle.

The pump with nasal applicator is not intended for thick emulsions, creams or oils. With such preparations it does not dispense correctly and the mechanism may be damaged.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 30 ml glass nasal spray bottle suitable for aqueous preparations?
Yes, the complete set is designed precisely for thin aqueous liquids. Hydrosols, aqueous solutions and light tonics spray smoothly through the pump and in a measured dose. However, aqueous contents must be adequately preserved, as neither the glass nor the pump prevent microbial growth in a filled preparation.
How much liquid does one press of the pump release?
One press releases approximately 0.12 ml. A bottle filled to the nominal volume therefore yields hundreds of doses, which makes the complete set suitable for preparations used in small amounts over a longer period. Before first use, the pump must be pressed several times without content to fill the dip tube.
Does the transparent bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear glass transmits light. The advantage is that you can see the contents and their purity; the disadvantage is faster degradation of light-sensitive ingredients. Store such preparations in the dark or in a box, or choose amber or blue glass with the same neck type.
Can the nasal spray complete set be used repeatedly?
The bottle yes, the pump only to a limited extent. The glass can be washed, disinfected and filled again. The pump has an internal mechanism with a dip tube that cannot be reliably cleaned, so when refilling it is recommended to replace it with a new one, especially for preparations applied to mucous membranes or facial skin.
Is the nasal spray suitable for oily or thick preparations?
No, the pump is designed for liquids with a consistency close to water. Oils, gels and emulsions will not pass through the mechanism correctly – the contents will not atomise, the dose will not be accurate and the mechanism may clog. For thicker preparations, choose a dropper or another closure with the same neck type.
How is the spray bottle prepared before the first fill?
Wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely so that no water or residue from the disinfectant remains. Then fill to the nominal volume, screw on the pump and press several times until mist begins to be released. If you are using your own combination of bottle and closure with the same neck type, verify the seal and dispensing with your formulation.
