Product description
This is a ready-made packaging and closure set: a vial-type glass bottle made of green glass with a nominal volume of 30 ml and a white nasal-spray-type dispenser with the same neck type. Together they form a small atomiser that releases a small, always identical dose in the form of a fine mist with each press. It is suitable for water-based cosmetic preparations that are applied in small amounts and precisely: hydrolates, toners, aromatic water sprays, refreshing face sprays or oral sprays.
Green glass limits light exposure, which helps protect contents sensitive to oxidation, for example preparations with essential oils or plant extracts. The glass also does not react with alcohol or essential oils, so the set is also suitable for alcohol-based or lightly fragranced water solutions. As a whole, the set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and supporting documents are available with the product.
Key benefits
- Precise dosing – the mechanism releases the same small dose with each press, which makes it easier to apply active water-based preparations without waste.
- Fine mist – the nozzle disperses the contents into tiny droplets that spread evenly on the skin and dry quickly.
- Protection from light – green glass slows the degradation of light-sensitive ingredients and helps maintain the scent and colour of the contents.
- Narrow applicator – the shape of the dispenser allows targeted application to a small area, for example around the nose, into the oral cavity or onto a specific spot on the face.
- Hygienic closure – the contents do not come into contact with the fingers and the nozzle is covered by a cap that protects it from dirt.
Using the set
The dispenser is designed for thin water-based solutions. The tube reaches to the bottom of the bottle, so the entire volume can be used without tilting. Before first use, the dispenser needs to be pressed several times until the tube fills and the first continuous mist comes out. This is normal priming, not a fault.
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the container is intended for during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is larger, and the difference forms a reserve for the dispenser tube, for the air space above the surface and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If the bottle is overfilled, the dispenser cannot be tightened after screwing on, or the contents overflow through the thread.
Thicker preparations, gels, emulsions and oils will not atomise properly in this type of dispenser. The nozzle clogs and the dispenser loses its dose. Use the set for liquids with a consistency close to water.
Water-based preparations without preservation have a short shelf life even in a closed spray. For this container, we recommend preserving hydrolates and toners in the usual way or producing them in small batches and using them up quickly.
Suitable for products such as
- Hydrolates and floral waters – spraying a fine mist onto the face or neck, without dripping.
- Toners and water-based serums – light water solutions with active substances soluble in water, applied in small doses.
- Oral sprays – refreshing water sprays with suitable flavours and solubilised essential oils, where the narrow applicator is appreciated.
- Aromatic water sprays – small personal sprays with a fragrance solubilised in water, carried in a handbag.
Good to know
Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle, disinfecting it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting it dry completely. Before use, the dispenser is rinsed with clean water by pumping it through several times and left to drip dry. The set can be reused. When changing the contents, it is advisable to pump clean water through the tube so that residues of the previous preparation do not affect the scent.
Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes, so let hot contents cool down before filling. The dispenser mechanism contains plastic parts and a steel spring. Long-term contact with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils can damage the plastics over time, so this dispenser is not intended for pure essential oils. The set is declared for cosmetic preparations. It is not approved for contact with food and has no declaration for medicines or medical devices either.
Direct the first presses away from the face until the mist stabilises. If the dispenser has not been used for a longer time, repeat the priming, because the tube may have emptied in the meantime.
A label can be applied to the bottle. When recycling, the glass bottle goes into glass, while the dispenser is a combined product made of plastics and metal and is sorted separately.
