FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Is this plastic pharmaceutical bottle suitable for thicker preparations or only for thin solutions?

The spray mechanism is designed primarily for thin solutions, toners and water-based or alcoholic mixtures. With thicker emulsions, oil serums or gels, the spray quality may decrease or the nozzle may become clogged. We therefore recommend using rather low-viscosity formulations and, for your own recipes, always performing a trial filling and dosing test.

Can I reuse this bottle repeatedly for new refills?

The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle and sprayer must be thoroughly rinsed, cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcoholic preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. Only after completely drying is the packaging ready for further safe use.

How should I properly clean and disinfect the bottle before filling it with my own cosmetics?

First we recommend rinsing the bottle with warm water and detergent, then rinsing it thoroughly with clean water so that no residues of the cleaning agent remain. After mechanical cleaning, it is advisable to disinfect the internal surfaces and the parts that come into contact with the product with alcohol – for example, preparations such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable are suitable. After disinfection, allow all parts of the packaging to dry freely at room temperature and only then proceed to filling.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle this plastic bottle if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend, after emptying and basic rinsing, placing it in sorted waste according to the type of plastic indicated in the product parameters. It is advisable to separate the bottle and the sprayer from each other, and if possible also to separate the individual parts. This makes correct sorting and subsequent recycling easier. When handling, make sure that no larger residues of the original contents remain in the packaging, which could affect the recycling process.
