Glass vial with aluminum closure represents a universal packaging suitable for precise dispensing as well as safe storage of smaller quantities of products. High-quality clear glass allows for immediate visual inspection of the contents, which will be appreciated by manufacturers of cosmetics, laboratory solutions or homemade blends. The aluminum cap at the same time ensures reliable sealing, which minimizes the risk of leakage and protects the contents from undesirable contamination.
Glass vials are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing options (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are stated in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the vial must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-derived ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination and undesirable changes in the properties of the product.
We first recommend mechanical cleaning – rinsing with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent and thoroughly removing all residues of the original product. It is then advisable to rinse the vial again with clean water, allow it to dry completely and only then carry out disinfection using alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-derived ethanol 96 %. After disinfection, allow the packaging to air thoroughly so that any residual alcohol can evaporate.
Glass packaging is in general very suitable for filling concentrated oils, aromatic and essential blends, because glass is a chemically stable material and does not react with most common cosmetic and aromatherapeutic raw materials. However, for very strong or atypical formulations we recommend carrying out a trial filling in a smaller quantity and after a certain time checking for any changes in scent, colour or any impact on the closure.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend placing it in sorted waste collection according to the material specified in the product parameters. After emptying and basic rinsing, place the glass vial in the container designated for glass. The aluminum closure should be separated from the vial and disposed of in metal packaging collection, if such collection is available in your municipality. Before recycling, it is important to remove as much product residue from the packaging as possible in order to simplify processing in the recycling process.
To select suitable packaging, you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. There you can narrow the selection according to several parameters, for example according to neck type, required size, colour or material. By combining these filters, you will quickly find vials, jars or pots that best suit your product and the intended method of use.
Although the combinations of packaging and closures offered on Handymade are tested in terms of mechanical functionality, for specific formulations it is advisable to perform your own compatibility test. We recommend filling a small amount of product, closing the vial properly and over several days monitoring the sealing, dispensing, any colour changes or damage to the closure. In this way you will confirm that your specific product is long-term stable and safe to use with the given type of packaging.
