Product description

A clear plastic bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a white-gold matte pump dispenser is a ready-to-use set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed by pressing. It is particularly suited to liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, body lotions, and lighter emulsions. Clear PET shows the colour and texture of the contents, is lightweight, and will not shatter if dropped, making it practical in the bathroom and when travelling.

The bottle and pump have the same neck type, so there is no need to check compatibility. The matte white-gold pump gives the product a refined look, suitable for gift packaging or small production runs for retail.

What the set offers in practice

  • One-handed dispensing – a single press delivers approximately 1.3 ml of product.
  • Cleaner use – the contents do not come into contact with fingers as they would with a jar, reducing the risk of introducing contaminants into the product.
  • Visible contents – the remaining amount and any changes in the product, such as phase separation or cloudiness, are visible through the clear wall.
  • Lightweight and impact-resistant – PET will not shatter if dropped, making the set suitable for the shower, the washbasin, and a travel bag.
  • Tall, slim profile – the straight wall provides a surface for a label; the dimensions needed for label design are listed in the product parameters.

Which products it is suited for

The pump works reliably with liquids and emulsions of fluid to medium viscosity. It dispenses liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, cleansing gels, facial milks, and massage oils with ease.

Very thick creams, butters, and balms are less suitable, as the pump cannot draw them up; products with coarse particles, such as scrubs with beads, may clog the mechanism. Very thin aqueous solutions dispense without issue, though a spray bottle is better suited for fine misting.

The clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products containing light-sensitive ingredients, such as vegetable oils prone to oxidation, certain extracts, vitamins, or natural pigments, should be stored away from direct sunlight, or an antioxidant should be included in the formulation.

Nominal and total volume

The 100 ml figure is the nominal volume, meaning the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total capacity up to the rim of the neck is slightly larger. This difference accounts for the space taken up by the pump tube and mechanism once fitted, and for product expansion with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise the contents will overflow at the neck when closing.

What to know before filling

Before first use, wash both the bottle and the pump, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. It is advisable to pump the disinfectant through the dispenser with several strokes so it reaches the tube and the mechanism.

The pump tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before fitting, trim it with clean scissors so that it reaches just above the bottom. A diagonal cut helps prevent the tube from suctioning against the bottom and allows the pump to draw out as much product as possible.

We recommend holding the tube alongside the outside of the bottle first and cutting it with a small margin. A tube that is too short will not reach the remaining product; one that is too long will bend inside the bottle and may kink.

PET does not tolerate high temperatures. Products should be filled into the bottle cooled down, at most lukewarm, as hot material may deform the wall. For products with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, it is advisable to test the container's behaviour on a sample batch first, as concentrated mixtures can degrade plastic over time.

The set is intended for cosmetic products; both the bottle and the pump are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, and declarations of conformity are available on the product page. Handymade also offers other closures with the same neck type and further ready-made combinations. When assembling a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing performance, and compatibility of the packaging with the specific formulation.

The pump is made from multiple materials and should therefore be separated from the bottle when sorting waste for recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Which viscosity products is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for?
The 100 ml plastic bottle with pump is suitable for liquids and emulsions of fluid to medium viscosity, such as liquid soaps, shampoos, shower gels, and body lotions. Very thick creams, butters, and balms cannot be drawn up by the pump, and products with coarse particles may clog it. With a new formulation, it is worth testing the dispensing on a small sample before filling an entire batch.
How much product does the pump of the 100 ml plastic bottle dispense per press?
A single full press of the pump delivers approximately 1.3 ml of product. The actual dose depends on the viscosity of the contents and whether the pump is pressed all the way down. On first use, it must be primed with several strokes until the tube and mechanism are filled. The dose figure is useful for estimating consumption and for writing usage instructions.
Can the plastic bottle with pump be filled with a hot product?
No, the PET bottle is not designed for hot filling. High temperatures can soften and deform the wall, so the product should only be filled once it has cooled down, at most lukewarm. The same applies to cleaning: the bottle should not be boiled or steam-sterilised. Disinfection with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol followed by thorough drying is sufficient before filling.
Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for food use?
No, the 100 ml plastic bottle and pump set is intended for cosmetic products, not for food use. Both the bottle and the pump are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, and declarations of conformity are available on the product page. For syrups, oils, or other food products, a container with food-contact suitability explicitly stated in its specifications must be used.
Can the plastic bottle with pump be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the pump can be reused after thorough cleaning. Wash the bottle with warm soapy water, rinse it, and disinfect with alcohol. Pump clean warm water through the dispenser first, then the disinfectant, to clean the tube and mechanism. Both parts must dry completely before the next filling; residual water would burden the preservation system of the new product.
