What the set is suitable for

It works best with low-viscosity, water-based liquids: hydrosols, water-based and herbal solutions, toners without thickeners, or light water-based serums that are meant to be applied in a fine layer. The sprayer head is shaped for nasal application, which also determines the type of products the set is chosen for. The contents you fill into it must correspond to the declared cosmetic use of the packaging.

With oils, thicker serums or liquids containing a thickener, the mist does not form properly and the sprayer may clog. If you still want to try such contents, test a small amount first and check whether the sprayer sprays evenly.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 50 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them serves as a reserve for the tube and the body of the sprayer. For this reason, fill only up to the nominal volume. If you fill to the brim, part of the contents will be pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is fitted.

How to work with the set

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. It is enough to rinse the sprayer with clean water or an alcohol solution and let it dry. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, screw the sprayer on firmly and push the air out of the tube with the first presses.

The sprayer is made of plastics (PP, PS, LDPE) and a steel spring. For contents with a higher proportion of alcohol, essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking how the sprayer behaves with your specific formulation, in particular whether the plastic discolours, the sprayer gums up or the spray quality deteriorates.

Good to know

The bottle has an 18/410 neck finish, so other closures with the same thread type from the Handymade range also fit it, for example when you want to offer the same contents in a different form. For your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and how the closure behaves with your specific formulation.

After the contents are used up, you can wash both parts and use them again. When you change the contents or when the sprayer stops spraying evenly, it is better to replace it with a new one.

For recycling, separate the sprayer from the bottle: the glass goes with glass, while the sprayer combines several types of plastic with a metal spring and is sorted according to the rules in your area.
