What is a bath fizzing bomb?
The basic ingredients of fizzies are citric acid and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). These ingredients do not react together without the action of water, but if we throw them into water, they react with the formation of carbon dioxide, which fizzes – hence the name fizzy :) So much for the chemistry.
In cosmetics, however, it is not just about chemistry, which is why various additives are added to fizzies that have a beneficial effect on our body. Various salts that relax the muscles, oils that hydrate the skin, dried herbs, essential oils and colorants are used as additives.
I have prepared a recipe for you using Epsom salt and olive oil.
To make a bath fizzing bomb we will need:
112 g baking soda
56 g citric acid
56 g Epsom salt
56 g starch (potato or corn)
2 tsp distilled water
2 tsp olive oil
Fragrance oil
Mica colorant
mold for making a fizzy
How to do it?
In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients and mix them thoroughly, in another bowl mix the wet ingredients. Very slowly, gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix continuously. After being pressed in the palm, the mixture should hold together. Fill the hemispheres with the mixture and join them. Tap the hemispheres with a spoon so that they separate from the resulting fizzy. Let the fizzy dry for at least one day. You will learn more in the video below:
We simply use it by throwing it into the bath, where the chemical reaction I described in the introduction takes place – fizzing, the salt relaxes our muscles, helps with skin diseases and also heart diseases, the oil softens the skin.
