Product description

Metal wick holder is a practical aid for making candles in glass or tin containers, helping to keep the wick stable and precisely centered during wax pouring. Stabilizing the wick is important for even burning of the candle, minimizing smoking and extending the lifespan of the final product. This accessory is designed to make work easier in both home and professional candle production in jars, pots and bottles of various shapes.

Possible uses

  • Production of candles in glass containers, jars and pots of various sizes
  • Fixation of wicks during pouring of soy, beeswax or paraffin wax
  • Production of designer candles in reusable packaging, such as bottles or smaller medicine vials
  • Stabilization of multiple wicks in one container when creating wider candles
  • Ensuring consistent quality in serial production of candles for sale or gift sets

Packaging benefits

  • Material stability – the metal holder is sturdy, resistant to common working temperatures during wax pouring and does not deform with repeated use.
  • Protection and quality of the final product – a correctly centered wick reduces the risk of uneven burning, wax overflowing over the edges and cracking of the glass container.
  • Universal use – suitable for a wide range of candle containers, from smaller pots and jars to larger decorative containers intended for handmade candles.
  • Possibility of repeated use – with careful handling and cleaning off wax residues, the holder can be used in multiple production cycles.
  • Easy handling – the design of the holder allows for quick placement of the wick and makes work easier even for beginners in candle making.

Combining with closures and dispensers

The wick holder is used in combination with various types of containers – from smaller glass pots to larger decorative jars or bottles, which can be closed again with a cap after the candle has burned out or used for another purpose. When selecting a suitable container for a candle, we recommend choosing packaging that is compatible with the wax pouring temperature and has a stable bottom. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

How should the metal wick holder be used correctly when pouring candles?

First attach the wick to the bottom anchoring base and place it in the centre of the container. Pull the upper part of the wick through the opening in the metal holder and place the holder on the rim of the container so that it lies horizontally. Gently tension and straighten the wick, then you can safely pour the wax. After the candle has set, simply remove the holder and, if necessary, clean off wax residues for further use.

Can the metal wick holder be used repeatedly?

Yes, the metal wick holder can be safely used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new use, we recommend mechanically cleaning the holder from wax residues and, as needed, cleaning and disinfecting the surface with a suitable agent, for example alcohol. For disinfection of equipment, you can use products available on Handymade, such as isopropyl alcohol in the disinfection category or denatured ethanol of plant origin. Before repeated use, always make sure that no impurities remain on the surface that could affect the quality of your candles.

How should I clean the wick holder after finishing candle pouring?

Wax residues are easiest to remove after partial cooling, when the wax is still slightly plastic. Wipe it off mechanically with a wooden or plastic spatula so as not to scratch the surface. You can then finish cleaning the holder with a paper towel and, as needed, wipe the surface with alcohol with a high ethanol content or with isopropyl alcohol. This will remove small wax residues and ensure cleanliness for the next use.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle the metal wick holder if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the wick holder any further, we recommend first removing wax residues and impurities. Then, according to the type of metal indicated in the product parameters, sort it into the appropriate recycling stream – usually into a container for metal packaging or metal waste according to the sorting rules in your area. Always adapt recycling recommendations to the information given in the parameter table for the respective product on Handymade so that the material is processed correctly and responsibly.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

When selecting suitable packaging and accessories, we recommend using the advanced filter, which you will find at the top of the page after clicking on a specific category of packaging or candle-making assortment. Using the filter, you can conveniently narrow down the offer according to parameters such as neck type, size, colour and packaging material. In this way you will quickly find bottles, jars, pots or other containers that will best suit your products and the planned mode of use.
