LX cotton wick size 24 (1000 pcs) is a professionally prepared cotton wick suitable for both manual and semi-professional candle production. Thanks to the stable fibre quality, it is ideal for poured and molded candles, where it ensures even burning and reliable wax consumption. Pre-prepared wicks make work easier in serial production and save time when filling containers or molds.
The cotton wick is designed to support clean and stable burning without excessive smoking, provided that the candle diameter and wax type are correctly chosen. Thanks to the practical packaging in a larger quantity of pieces, this product is suitable for manufacturers who need a reliable, consistent component for their candle production with an emphasis on the quality of the final product.
The combinations of packaging and components that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (behaviour of the wick in the container used, burning in the selected wax and reaction to the fragrance and colour components used).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The selection of the wick depends on the candle diameter, wax type, amount of fragrance and colourant. We recommend starting with an indicative choice based on experience with a similar diameter and then performing a burn test – observe whether the wax melts evenly to the edge, without excessive smoking and without tunneling. If necessary, choose a wick that is one grade thicker or thinner and repeat the test until you achieve a stable flame and the required burn time.
Yes, cotton wicks are generally suitable for several types of waxes, such as paraffin, vegetable or blend waxes. However, each wax has a different density and flammability, so it is always necessary to perform a trial pour and burn test with the specific formulation. When changing the wax type or the ratio of fragrance and colourant, we recommend always repeating the test to verify the correct wick size.
The cotton wick can, if necessary, be shortened to the required length using standard scissors, or combined with wick tabs or wick holders. When filling container candles, we recommend attaching the wick to the centre of the container bottom and tightening it so that it remains in the correct position during pouring and wax solidification. Before each lighting of the candle, it is advisable to trim the wick to approximately 5–7 mm, which supports clean and stable burning.
Leftover cotton wick pieces without wax residues can be disposed of with regular household waste. If the wick is saturated with wax, we recommend first mechanically removing as much wax as possible and then again disposing of the remaining material with household waste. To minimise waste, it is practical to plan wick lengths so that as few offcuts as possible are produced. When combined with candle containers, follow the recycling recommendations for the given packaging material stated in the parameters of the specific product on the Handymade website.
To make it easier to choose the right bottle, jar or other packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected packaging category. Using the filter, you can narrow down the offer according to neck type, size, colour and material and display only those packages that meet the required criteria. In this way, you will find suitable packaging for your candles, cosmetics or other products more quickly, without having to browse through the entire offer.
