Wick attachment stickers are a practical packaging accessory that facilitates stable attachment of the wick to the bottom of the container when making candles. Thanks to the double-sided adhesive surface, they allow precise and reliable sticking of the wick to various types of containers, such as a glass bottle, jar, pot or other suitable packaging. Adhesive stickers help to keep the wick in the desired position during wax pouring and candle burning, thus contributing to safer and more even use of the finished product.
First make sure that the bottom of the container is dry, clean and degreased. Then remove the protective film from one side of the sticker, press it firmly onto the metal or otherwise finished wick base and smooth it well. Then remove the second protective film and place the wick with the attached sticker exactly in the centre of the bottom of the container. Press the base to the bottom and leave for a short time to stabilize the adhesive layer before pouring the wax.
The stickers are designed to ensure stable attachment of the wick at standard working temperatures used in home and artisanal candle making. Nevertheless, we recommend that the wax is not unnecessarily overheated when pouring into the container and that it is poured into the container smoothly without a sharp impact of the wax stream on the bottom. This minimizes the risk of the wick base shifting and achieves a more even spreading of the wax.
The adhesive wick attachment sticker is intended as a single-use aid, therefore we do not recommend using it repeatedly. When it is peeled off again from the bottom of the container, the adhesion of the adhesive decreases and thus also the safety and stability of the wick. If you plan to reuse the packaging for candle making, it is recommended to use a new sticker after removing the adhesive and wax residues and always check that the wick base holds firmly on the bottom of the container.
Glass or other suitable containers in which there was a candle can be reused after thorough removal of wax residues and the adhesive sticker. Before the next filling, it is necessary to clean, degrease and disinfect the container thoroughly in accordance with hygiene principles. For disinfection, we recommend using, for example, products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 %, which you can find on the pages /ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ and /etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/. After the container is completely dry, a new sticker and wick can be used again.
If you decide not to reuse the container with the used sticker, we recommend placing it in sorted waste according to the material specified in the parameters of the specific packaging on the product page. It is advisable to first mechanically remove the sticker and wax residues as much as possible so that they do not interfere with the recycling process. Glass containers are usually sorted into glass waste, plastic packaging into plastic and metal parts according to local metal collection rules. Always follow the recommendation of the packaging manufacturer and local waste sorting rules.
