Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly with a suitable type of filling, provided that you observe basic hygiene rules. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the container and the closure and subsequently disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based product, for example isopropyl alcohol in cosmetic grade (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ target="_blank") or plant-based ethanol (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/ target="_blank"). After rinsing and complete drying, you can refill the bottle. At the same time, it is important to monitor whether any signs of wear appear on the packaging or the closure that could affect the tightness or functionality of the dispensing.

First, we recommend rinsing the bottle and the disc-top closure with a residual medium compatible with the original filling (for example a small amount of distilled water or a suitable carrier oil), then washing them with a mild cleaning agent and rinsing thoroughly. After mechanical cleaning, it is necessary to disinfect the packaging with an alcoholic solution – products based on isopropyl alcohol or ethanol intended for cosmetic use, which you can find in the Handymade range, are practical. After applying the alcohol, allow the bottle and closure to dry completely at room temperature and only then refill them. Do not expose the plastic to high temperatures, do not boil it and do not wash it in a dishwasher, in order to avoid deformation of the material.

The plastic material of the bottle and the disc-top closure are not intended for long-term contact with hot or very warm liquids. Exposure to high temperatures can lead to softening or deformation of the walls, damage to the thread and deterioration of the tightness of the closure. We recommend filling the packaging only at room temperature or at a slightly reduced product temperature. The packaging is not suitable for boiling, steam sterilisation or washing in a dishwasher, where the temperature and water pressure exceed the recommended limits for this type of plastic. If these principles are followed, the bottle will maintain its optimal shape and functionality throughout its entire period of use.

After finding the relevant recycling symbol, we recommend sorting the packaging into the collection container intended for that type of plastic, according to the rules in force in your municipality or town. Before placing it in separate collection, empty the bottle and, if necessary, briefly rinse it so that no significant product residues remain. The closure is often made from a different type of plastic than the container body, so it is ideal if local recycling rules allow sorting by individual components. In this way, you support efficient processing of the material and its reuse within the recycling chain.
