Product description

The glass pharmaceutical bottle represents a universal and professional packaging suitable for filling a wide range of liquid and partially viscous preparations. Clear glass allows immediate visual inspection of the contents, which is practical for dosing and for checking the colour and purity of the product. This type of small bottle is popular in cosmetics, the pharmaceutical segment, and in the production of handmade products, where the combination of reliability, material purity, and aesthetic appearance is important.

Possible uses

  • packaging of facial serums, active concentrates, and toners
  • storage of liquid cosmetic preparations such as facial and body oils
  • packaging of hair serums, scalp treatments, and special care blends
  • practical bottle for aromatherapy blends and cosmetic extracts
  • storage of homemade tinctures, herbal macerates, and laboratory solutions for further processing
  • small volume suitable for testers, travel sizes, and product samples

Packaging advantages

  • High chemical stability of glass – the material does not react with most cosmetic and technical formulations, which helps to preserve their original properties during storage.
  • Excellent protection of the contents – rigid glass walls reduce the permeability of gases and volatile substances, thereby supporting the stability of fragrance, colour, and texture.
  • Low odour permeability – glass does not absorb aromas and is suitable for perfumed compositions, essential oils, and aromatic blends.
  • Aesthetic and professional appearance – the clear pharmaceutical bottle looks clean, allows the colour of the formulation to stand out, and is suitable for presenting premium products.
  • Ecological character – glass is a recyclable material and, with proper handling, also suitable for repeated use.

Combining with closures and dispensers

Glass bottles – pharmaceutical bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps, or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – especially in terms of sealing, dosing accuracy, and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, content of alcohol, essential oils, or acids).

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Is this glass pharmaceutical bottle also suitable for products with a higher content of active ingredients or alcohol?

From a material point of view, the glass pharmaceutical bottle is also suitable for formulations with a higher content of active ingredients or alcohol, because glass has very good chemical resistance and stability. However, we always recommend carrying out your own test of the specific formula in the planned combination of packaging + closure (especially with a high content of essential oils, acids, or solvents) in order to verify long-term stability, sealing, and dosing.

Can I use this bottle repeatedly for different products?

The glass bottle – pharmaceutical bottle is, with proper handling, suitable for repeated use, always subject to strict hygiene rules being observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using alcohol-based preparations, such as the cleaning alcohols available in the Handymade range (for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based). When changing the type of product (for example from an oil-based to a water-based product), we recommend paying increased attention to cleaning to avoid compromising the new formulation.

How can I correctly test the compatibility of my formulation with this packaging and closure?

For the compatibility test, we recommend filling one test bottle with the finished product, closing it with the selected closure or dispenser, and observing the behaviour of the packaging over several days to weeks. Focus in particular on the tightness of the joint, smoothness of dosing, changes in the appearance of the glass, softening of the sealing, as well as any loss of fragrance or change in consistency. Carry out the test under conditions as similar as possible to the real storage conditions (temperature, light, handling). If you do not observe any undesirable changes during the test, the combination of the packaging and your formulation is usually suitable for use.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle the glass pharmaceutical bottle if I do not wish to use it repeatedly?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend properly recycling it after emptying and basic cleaning, according to the type of material stated in the product parameters. The glass body of the bottle is usually placed in the container intended for glass, while plastic or metal closures are sorted according to the relevant fraction (plastic / metal), where possible. Before disposal, remove product residues to facilitate the recycling process and reduce the environmental burden. Specific recommendations for sorting may differ slightly depending on local waste collection rules, so it is advisable to also follow the instructions of the local collection system.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

To choose suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter located in the upper part of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. Within the filter it is possible to combine several parameters at once – for example the type and diameter of the neck, the size of the packaging, the colour of the material, or the material composition. In this way you can display only those bottles, pharmaceutical bottles, jars, or pots that meet your formula and the desired packaging style. We recommend starting with the selection of material and volume and then adapting the neck and compatible closures.
