The glass medicine bottle is suitable for filling a wide range of cosmetic formulations, including serums, oils and preparations with a higher proportion of active ingredients. Before final use, we always recommend preparing a smaller test batch, filling it into the packaging and monitoring the stability of texture, colour and fragrance over time. In this way, you will verify the optimal compatibility of the specific formula with the packaging and the dispenser.
Yes, the glass medicine bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after the complete drying of the inner surface and the dispenser is the packaging ready for refilling, which minimizes the risk of microbial contamination.
We recommend cleaning the dispenser gently so that the functionality of the pump is preserved. It is not advisable to forcibly disassemble the internal parts of the mechanism. In practice, repeated rinsing with lukewarm water and a mild non-foaming cleaning agent has proven effective, followed by thorough rinsing with clean water and finally disinfection with a small amount of alcohol that you pump through the mechanism. After rinsing, allow the dispenser to dry completely in a vertical position.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend directing it into the recycling stream according to the material indicated in the product parameters. The glass part can generally be disposed of into the container intended for the respective type of glass after removing any product residues and, if applicable, separating the plastic or metal dispenser. The dispenser, which contains plastic and metal components, should be recycled according to local waste collection rules. Always follow the material designation in the parameter table for the specific product on Handymade and the local recycling guidelines.
