The trigger sprayer is most suitable for liquid, low-viscosity preparations that are to be applied in the form of a fine mist – for example cleaning solutions for the household, air fresheners, gardening sprays, mild cosmetic and body sprays. Before final use, we always recommend testing compatibility with the specific composition of the product and verifying whether spraying is carried out evenly and without clogging of the nozzle.

The sprayer can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the packaging and the trigger mechanism – it is suitable to use an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. You can use products available on Handymade for disinfection, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. It is advisable to let the disinfectant solution pass through the spray mechanism itself and then empty everything thoroughly and let it dry in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination.

When choosing a suitable bottle, it is important that the neck of the bottle corresponds to the thread type of the sprayer and that the material of the container is compatible with the formulation you plan to use. All combinations of packaging and sprayer that are created directly within a single product set on the site are tested for functionality. Nevertheless, we recommend your own test, where you verify sealing, dosing, stability during transport and the behavior of the plastic in contact with your product.

To reduce the risk of nozzle clogging, we recommend using clear or well-filtered solutions without larger undissolved particles. In the case of thicker or partially emulsion preparations, it is advisable to perform a long-term functionality test and, if necessary, adjust the formula (for example by reducing the content of solid particles or viscosity). After use with products prone to drying, occasional rinsing of the mechanism with clean water or a suitable solvent that is compatible with the given sprayer and the bottle material has proven effective.

If you decide not to use the sprayer further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and according to the information on the material stated in the product parameters on Handymade. First remove product residues from the packaging so that no significant liquid residues remain in the container or mechanism. Then divide the sprayer into individual parts where possible or place it in the fraction corresponding to the plastic used. If you are not sure about the correct classification, follow the recommendation of the local collection yard or municipal services and the information given with the product in the e-shop.
