Winter balm (not only) for hands

Back10. 02. 2020 Tutorials
Have a wonderful start of the week, our dear Handymen!

We hope that you are starting your Monday with vigour despite the chilly weather. Just like us ???? Cheerful thanks to the message we received from our customer Janka. Not only did she praise us to the skies, but thanks to the availability of everything she needs to create under the Made by Heathcliff brand, she created this amazing recipe for a winter hand balm (not only) for just such windy and cold weather.

The balm is slightly warming, anti-inflammatory and antifungal, so you can use it on feet that are at a much higher risk of mycotic diseases in winter in boots and socks. The balm smells nice and doesn't leave a greasy feeling (you need to leave it on for a while as soon as it's been rubbed on, once it's absorbed, the grease is gone). Thanks to lanolin and beeswax, it doesn't wash off, so you can work with water and the balm still works (basically until the evening).

So, with Janka's permission, we're posting and hope you'll be inspired ;-)
For the balm you will need the following ingredients:
2.5 g beeswax
10 g bacuri butter
15 g mango butter
5 g lanolin
15 g hemp oil
4 teaspoons of mixed perilla macerate (perilla frutescens in grape seed oil) - you can substitute CO2 extract in the recommended ratio
1 teaspoon mustard oil
3-5 drops of orange essential oil

Procedure: melt all ingredients over a gentle flame or in a water bath, add in exact order of melting point, taking a temperature reading (approximately 37 ̊C) before adding the essential oil. Once all the ingredients have been mixed, whisk the mixture gently until the mixture begins to solidify. Store the balm in jars and let it sit (ideally for at least 24 hours).

Try the recipe for this exceptional balm and let us know how you like it ;-)
