Product description
The 30 ml blue glass medicine bottle with a fine mist sprayer is a ready-to-use packaging solution for water-based toners, facial mists, hair refreshers, room and fabric sprays, and alcohol-based hand solutions. The blue glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which helps when storing formulations with hydrosols, water-soluble active ingredients or a share of essential oils. The black fine mist sprayer with a black overcap gives the packaging a uniform look and can be operated with one hand.
The set consists of a medicine bottle with an 18 mm neck and a plastic fine mist sprayer that disperses the contents into tiny droplets. The small volume suits samples, travel packs, testing a new recipe, or products that are used up within a few weeks.
Suitable uses
- Facial toners and mists – low-viscosity water-based and hydrosol formulations applied directly to the face or on a cotton pad.
- Hair mists – light conditioning or refreshing solutions without thickeners.
- Room and fabric sprays – water-based solutions with fragrance dissolved by a solubiliser, optionally with a share of alcohol.
- Alcohol-based and cleaning solutions – sprays for hands or for tools used in production. We recommend checking in advance that the plastic parts of the sprayer are suitable for your specific alcohol concentration.
- Samples and travel packs – 30 ml lasts for several weeks of use, with no surplus left standing in the light unnecessarily.
Dispensing with the sprayer
One press releases approximately 0.14 ml of solution. For a facial mist this corresponds to one or two presses for the whole face, while a fabric spray takes several. The sprayer works reliably with contents that have a water-like consistency or are a thin solution. Gels, emulsions and formulations with a thickener clog the nozzle or come out as a stream instead of a mist, so they do not belong in this set.
Before first use, prime the sprayer by pressing it several times so that the tube and pump fill up. If a solution contains solid particles, for example undissolved powder or sediment from an extract, filter it before filling, otherwise the nozzle will clog.
If the formulation contains essential oils or a higher share of alcohol, leave one filled set to stand for a few days. Then check whether the sprayer dispenses evenly and whether the plastic has changed colour or hardness. A short test with one bottle saves trouble with a larger batch.
Filling and volume
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical capacity of the glass up to the neck, and you can find it in the product parameters. The difference between the two leaves room for the tube and body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space in the bottle once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature.
Fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, the contents would overflow through the neck when the sprayer is fitted.
Good to know
Before first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let them dry completely. Residual water in the tube would dilute the contents and, in cosmetics without a preservative, shorten their shelf life after opening.
Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes well. Do not pour a hot solution into a cold bottle, and do not leave a filled bottle in direct sunlight or in a car. Blue glass reduces light, but for formulations sensitive to oxidation it does not replace storage in the dark.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product. This set is not approved for contact with food.
After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused. If the sprayer previously held contents with fragrance or oil, rinse it with alcohol and spray clean water through it several times, otherwise residues will carry over into the new filling. Glass belongs in the glass recycling bin, and the polypropylene sprayer in the plastics bin.
If you want to combine the bottle with a different closure, choose according to the neck type given in the parameters. You can find closures with the same neck and other ready-made sets in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
