The candle waxes category offers a selection of premium vegetable waxes for both jar and pillar candles, as well as natural blends, hardeners and scented waxes. The right choice of wax affects surface smoothness, fragrance release and flame stability. All waxes on Handymade.sk are designed for both professional and hobby use.
The difference between types lies in hardness, shrinkage, adhesion to glass and compatibility with perfumes and dyes. Soy and coconut waxes are ideal for jars, rapeseed and palm waxes are ideal for freestanding candles, and beeswax is a classic with an unmistakable aroma and long burn time.
Tip for candle makers: follow the melting, stirring and pouring temperatures as recommended by the manufacturer. After pouring, allow candles to mature for at least 48-72 hours before testing the burn for optimal results.
Soy waxes are a popular choice for natural candles in glass. They provide a clean burn, smooth finish and a good "scent throw" when cool. They work great with both fragrances and dyes. For example, try KeraSoy Container 4130 Soy Wax (5 kg).
The harder "pillar" waxes are designed for freestanding candles - they are easy to remove from the mould once cooled, don't suffer from cracks, and hold their shape stably. A great choice is KeraSoy Pillar 4120 Soy Wax (5 kg) or its 20 kg pack for larger workshops.
The EcoSoya brand offers waxes with a fine texture and excellent adhesion to glass. For jar candles, we recommend EcoSoya CB-Advanced Soy Wax (5 kg), while for pillar candles, EcoSoya Pillar Blend Soy Wax (5 kg) is ideal. Premium appearance and excellent fragrance release.
Palm waxes create an original "ice" pattern on the surface of the candle and have a long burning time. They are suitable for both pillar candles and scented waxes. Try the palm wax BW C09 (5 kg) with its characteristic crystal effect.
Harder waxes for scented waxes (tarts) are optimised for releasing fragrances without wick - they create an intense atmosphere when melted in an aroma lamp. We recommend the Ecosoya Melt for scented waxes (5 kg), suitable for beginners and professionals.
Carnauba and candelilla waxes are used as additives to increase the hardness, gloss and durability of candles. Just a small amount will improve the texture and improve the stability of the flame. Ideal for custom blends and experiments.
Scent mixing: add to melted wax and stir for at least 1-2 minutes.Pouring: choose temperature according to wax type and container - affects smoothness and adhesion.Wick: test according to candle diameter, pigment and amount of fragrance.Cooling: ensure even cooling without draughts to minimise 'frosting'.
Soy waxes designed for "container" types - such as KeraSoy 4130 or EcoSoya CB-Advanced - give the best results. They have excellent adhesion to the glass and a clean burn.

Follow the recommended mixing temperature, allow the candle to mature for at least 48 hours and use compatible fragrance blends. For a low flame, choose a larger wick.
"Frosting" is the natural crystallization of soy wax. It is minimized by a stable pouring temperature, slow cooling, and gentle superheating of the surface after pouring.
