The conditioners category includes modern cationic systems and supporting ingredients for hair care cosmetics. They reduce friction during combing, improve detangling, limit frizz and leave the hair smooth and manageable. They are suitable for 2-in-1 shampoos, classic rinse-off conditioners, masks and leave-in products.
The range covers natural cationic conditioners (bio-based alternatives to quats), cationic emulsifiers of the BTMS type for building a creamy texture, and supporting co-emulsifiers/thickeners for stability and a pleasant sensorial profile of the finished product.
Below you will find clearly divided groups with links to specific raw materials.
Bio-based conditioning systems provide gentle slip, antistatic effect and smoothing of the hair fibre; they are suitable for rinse-off and leave-in formats. Mild, effective and compatible with a wide range of surfactants. More information can be found in the products AminoSensyl HC, AminoSensyl Ultra MB and Emulsense HC.
BTMS systems combine conditioning performance with emulsification and the formation of a creamy, stable texture of conditioners and masks. Easy detangling, reduced static electricity and a luxurious “slip”. Details are provided for the products Varisoft BTMS and Varisoft BTMS-25.
Supporting lipophilic and amphiphilic ingredients fine-tune the viscosity, sensorial properties and robustness of emulsions. Stable texture, velvety touch and a longer-lasting feeling of softness. See PCA Glyceryl Oleate and Cetyl alkohol.
For shampoos, choose mild cationic systems with good compatibility with anionic surfactants (AminoSensyl, Emulsense). For creamy conditioners and masks, BTMS is suitable; it emulsifies and builds viscosity at the same time.
Typically 1–8 % depending on the desired conditioning strength and the product type. For leave-in formats, choose rather lower dosages; always follow the technical data sheet of the specific raw material and test stability.
Yes. BTMS provides the creamy structure and the conditioning base, while natural systems enhance softness, slip and antistatic properties. Adjust the pH and the proportion of fatty alcohols to achieve the desired viscosity.
Cetyl alkohol acts as a thickener and stabiliser, improving creaminess and spreadability. PCA Glyceryl Oleate improves “slip”, smoothing and the overall perceived softness of the hair.
