The glass bottle with a black glossy surface and black-gold spray pump represents an elegant and reliable packaging solution for modern cosmetic formulations as well as professional homemade product creation. Thanks to the high-quality glass, it is suitable for filling various liquid preparations where precise and gentle application using a spray pump is important. The opaque dark glass helps protect sensitive active ingredients from light and supports their longer stability during storage and use, which you will appreciate for preparations with a higher content of plant extracts or aromatic components.
This product represents a combination of bottle and spray pump, prepared for immediate filling and use. The packaging and closure combinations created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation). When testing, pay particular attention to the tightness of the joint, the consistency of the spraying and the behaviour of the packaging material during long-term contact with your specific product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass bottle is also suitable for formulations that contain essential oils or aromatic blends, provided that their concentration is adapted to cosmetic use and to the formulation itself. Glass is generally resistant to most essential oils and does not degrade as quickly as many plastic materials. When working with higher concentrations of essential oils, we always recommend testing the stability of the product and the functionality of the spray pump on a small trial batch to verify the consistency of the spray, sealing and the long-term behaviour of the blend in contact with the packaging.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if correct hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and subsequently disinfected with a suitable alcohol, for example using isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Disinfection helps minimise the risk of microbial contamination and the influence on the new formulation by residues of the previous product. When changing the product type (e.g. from a disinfecting solution to a facial toner), we recommend paying increased attention to cleaning and rinsing the spray pump so that the fragrance and effect of the new preparation are not affected.
When filling, we recommend using a funnel or a suitable dosing aid to prevent contamination of the neck and thread. Do not fill the bottle right to the top, but leave a small free space that allows the proper function of the spraying mechanism and air circulation when pressing the pump. After filling, carefully wipe the neck and thread, screw on the spray pump and check the sealing by gently turning the packaging upside down. Before the first use, it is normal that you need to press several times until the system “primes” and starts to produce an even mist. Thicker emulsions or very viscous products may require an individual test to determine whether they are suitable for this type of spray pump.
After the product has been used up, we recommend thoroughly rinsing out the remaining contents, then disassembling the packaging (separating the spray pump from the glass part) and washing it with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent. After thorough rinsing, allow both the glass and the spray pump to drain and dry. Before refilling, the packaging must be disinfected – for example by rinsing or spraying the inner surface of the glass and all parts that come into contact with the product with alcohol such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the alcohol to evaporate at room temperature and only then refill the packaging so that the new formulation is not diluted or affected.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and the information given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. The glass part can generally be placed in the glass container after removing product residues and plastic components. The spray pump, which consists of several materials (plastic, metal spring, etc.), should be separated from the glass and sorted according to the recommendations in the recycling section for the specific product. Before handing it over for collection, always empty and rinse the packaging as much as possible to minimise cosmetic residues in the waste stream.
The easiest way to find suitable packaging for your product is to use the advanced filter in the relevant packaging category. After clicking on the category, the advanced filter is located at the top of the page and allows you to quickly narrow down the selection according to several parameters. You can filter by neck type, overall size and volume, colour and packaging material. This makes it easy to coordinate bottles, dropper bottles, jars as well as closures and dispensers so that they suit your specific formulation and the visual identity of your brand.
